VanFest
VanFest is an annual music festival which takes place in Maple Valley, Washington, United States. It was founded in 2011 as a grassroots project by namesake Van Wolfe, who was a student at Tahoma Senior High School at the time and described in ''The Stranger (newspaper), The Stranger'' as a "superhuman". The event series, featuring largely Pacific Northwest local bands, benefits the Maple Valley food bank. VanFest Five, held in 2015, boasted four stages and 36 bands performing. VanFest 2016 featured three stages along with a hip hop tent. Kathryn-Leigh Beckwith, also known as Kitty Ray (born February 25, 1993), known professionally as Kitty, is an American rapper. She started her career in music as a teenager, uploading original songs to her Tumblr blog under the names Kitty Pryde and ♡kitty♡. Between the years of 2011 and 2014, Kitty released several singles and extended plays. In May 2012, she uploaded the homemade music video for her song "Okay Cupid" to YouTube; the song became viral and ''Rolling Stone'' ranked the hit single as number 17 of ''50 Best Songs of 2012''. Jason Webley
Jason Webley is an American musician known for his sincere fusion of folk, experimental, and alternative music. Webley plays the guitar and accordion, sometimes providing percussion by stomping or shaking a plastic vodka bottle filled with coins. Webley began his career performing solo, but has collaborated with a wide range of artists. He has also organized several commemorative concerts and events memorializing everything from tragedies in his hometown of Everett, Washington to tomatoes. Early life Webley is originally from Everett, Washington. In high school, Webley played in a punk rock band called Moral Minority. Maple Valley, Washington
Maple Valley is a city in King County, Washington, United States. The population was 28,013 at the 2020 census. The city functions as a commuter town for residents, though there is an increasing amount of commercial activity in the area. History The area was settled in 1879 by three men who were improving a trail and brought their families in. When a name for a future community was proposed, the names Vine Maple Valley and Maple Ridge were suggested. A vote was taken by writing the names on slips of paper and placing them in a hat. Vine Maple Valley won by 2/3, but the word "Vine" was later cut by the post office because it made the name too long. The town's early history mainly had to do with coal, lumber milling to build homes, and a railroad that ran through town. Willis Earl Beal (also known as Nobody) is an artist and musician. Early years Willis Earl Beal was born on the south side of Chicago, Illinois. In his early twenties Beal joined the U.S. Army, moving to Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. Beal was medically discharged from the army due to intestinal and visual problems. He then returned to Chicago where he worked at Sears Tower, following a five-month hospital stay. Early career In 2007, Beal moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico. Here Beal spent some time homeless, and working entry-level jobs, notably as a night-shift security guard. During this time Beal began to record music, leaving CD-Rs in public spaces around Albuquerque. Beal would also leave self-illustrated flyers around the town in the hope of finding a girlfriend.
