Gor () is the fictional setting for a series of sword and planet novels written by philosophy professor John Lange, writing as John Norman. The setting was first described in the 1966 novel ''Tarnsman of Gor''. The series is inspired by science fantasy pulp magazine, pulp fiction works by Edgar Rice Burroughs, such as the ''Barsoom'' series. It also includes erotica and philosophy content. The Gor series repeatedly depicts men abducting and physically and sexually brutalizing women, who grow to enjoy their submissive state. According to ''The Encyclopedia of Science Fiction'', Norman's "sexual philosophy" is "widely detested", but the books have inspired a Gorean subculture. 2018 AFC Futsal Club Championship
The 2018 AFC Futsal Club Championship was the 9th edition of the AFC Futsal Club Championship, an annual international futsal club tournament in Asia organised by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC). It was held in Yogyakarta, Indonesia between 1–12 August 2018. In the final, Mes Sungun defeated Thái Sơn Nam to win their first title. Chonburi Bluewave were the defending champions, but were eliminated in the quarter-final VS Bank of Beirut Teams Of the 47 AFC member associations, a total of 16 associations teams entered the competition, each entering one team. There was no qualification, and all entrants advanced to the final tournament. All 14 associations which participated in the 2017 AFC Futsal Club Championship returned for 2018. Moreover, South Korea entered a team for the first time ever, and Myanmar entered a team for the first time since 2012, when they participated in qualification. AFC Futsal Club Championship
The AFC Futsal Club Championship is the current highest Asian futsal club competition, hosted by the Asian Football Confederation. It is futsal equivalent to AFC Champions League. For the inaugural edition, AFC Futsal Committee decided to make it an invitational event, and each member association has been asked to nominate their national league champions for the tournament. History and format A trial edition, named 2006 Asia Futsal Cup, was run in 2006 with six teams participating. Iranian team Shensa Saveh beat Uzbek Ardus FC 5–1 in the final. The first recognised edition by the AFC was held in 2010 and ran with ten teams, forming two groups of five teams. The top two finishers then proceeded to the semi-finals. Since 2015 the final tournament is played with 12 teams. If more national league champions wish to enter a team, all but the top three finishers of the last tournament and the host nation, have to enter a qualification stage.
