Vamo arriba is an Uruguayan daytime television show broadcast by Channel 4. It debuted on December 3, 2018 and is presented by Giannina Silva, Gastón González and Federico Paz. The weekday program airs from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. It was expanded to weekends with the debut of a Sunday edition on August 21, 2021. History The program began to be broadcast on December 3, 2018, as part of a renovation and structuring of the morning programming of Channel 4. The first guest of the program was the historic figure of the Uruguayan carnival, Julio "Kanela" Sosa and the first dish cooked was a chivito. Giannina Carla Silva Varela (born 24 November 1984) is a Uruguayan actress, television host, model and beauty pageant titleholder who represented her country at Miss Universe 2007. Early life and education Silva was born on November 24, 1984, in ''barrio'' Palermo, Montevideo. She comes from a family of carnival performers; Her uncle was Waldemar Silva, founder of the Cuareim 1080 comparsa. She completed her primary and secondary studies at the Elbio Fernández School and Lyceum, graduating as part of the institution's honor roll. Chivito (sandwich)
Chivito is the national dish of Uruguay. It is a sandwich of sliced beefsteak ('' churrasco''), mozzarella, ham, tomatoes, mayonnaise and black or green olives. A chivito commonly also includes bacon and fried or hard-boiled eggs. It is served in a bun, often accompanied by French-fried potatoes. Other ingredients, such as red beets, peas, grilled or pan-fried red peppers, and slices of cucumber, may be added. In Argentine cuisine a similar sandwich is called ''lomito''.
