Valley Line West
The Valley Line is a future , low-floor urban light rail line in Edmonton, Alberta, currently under construction. It will be part of the Edmonton Light Rail Transit. It will run southeast to west from Mill Woods to Lewis Farms, crossing through downtown. The line will be constructed in phases, with phase 1 being the , 12-station portion between Mill Woods and 102 Street (Downtown) allowing passengers to connect with the Capital Line and Metro Line at Churchill station. Construction began on April 22, 2016, with completion of phase 1 tentatively set for 2023. Upon completion of the entire line, the Valley Line is expected to serve more than 100,000 commuters daily, nearly matching the current Capital Line and Metro Line in terms of capacity and ridership. Churchill Station (Edmonton)
Churchill station is an Edmonton Light Rail Transit station in Edmonton, Alberta. It serves both the Capital Line and the Metro Line. It is an underground station located beneath Churchill Square (Edmonton), Churchill Square and is a part of the Edmonton Pedway system. An at-grade surface platform is currently under construction above the existing station at Rue Hull (99 Street) and 102 Avenue, and was scheduled to open in 2020; however, as of December 2022 the Valley Line had not opened and no definite opening date had been announced. Whitemud Drive is a major east–west freeway in southern Edmonton, Alberta, that stretches from 231 Street at the western city limit to Anthony Henday Drive just east of Edmonton in Strathcona County. Louise McKinney Riverfront Park or Louise McKinney Park is a municipal park in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, that is part of the North Saskatchewan River valley parks system, and serves as the gateway park, with paved paths leading from it to everywhere in the parks system. Tawatinâ Bridge
The Tawatinâ Bridge ( ) is an extradosed LRT bridge crossing the North Saskatchewan River in Edmonton, Alberta. Below the concrete box girder spans is a suspended eight-meter wide shared-use path, which was opened to the public on December 12, 2021. It will be part of Edmonton Transit Service's Valley Line extension, which is scheduled to open in 2022 (tentative). North Saskatchewan River Valley Parks System
The North Saskatchewan River valley parks system, also known as the Ribbon of Green or the River Valley Parks, is a continuous collection of urban parks around the North Saskatchewan River valley in the Edmonton Metropolitan Region of Alberta, Canada. The park system encompasses over of parkland, making it the largest contiguous area of urban parkland in the country. The park system is made up of over 30 provincial and municipal parks situated around the river from Devon to Fort Saskatchewan, with trails connecting most of the parks together.
