Valley Football Association
The Valley Football Association (VFA) is a football-only athletic conference comprising fifteen high schools located within northeastern and central Wisconsin. The conference was formed in 2010, when the Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association merged the Fox Valley Association (FVA) and Wisconsin Valley Conference (WVC). The merger was a result of the WVC having difficulty scheduling football games due to only having six active football participants at the time. The first season of play was 2011. History In 2014, Hortonville High School replaced original member Menasha High School, who departed the VFA for the Bay Conference. In 2017, Wausau East High School left the conference becoming an independent school for football. From 2017 to 2020, the conference was split into three geographic divisions: North, South, and West. Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association
The Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association (WIAA) is the regulatory body for all high school sports in Wisconsin. Its history dates to 1895, making it the earliest continually existing high school athletic organization in the country. It also provides the licensing program for more than 10,000 officials in the state, and oversees junior high or middle school athletics in about 100 of the state's nearly 400 school districts. Stevens Point Area Senior High (commonly called SPASH) is a high school located in Stevens Point, Wisconsin, United States. It is part of the Stevens Point Area Public School District. SPASH serves the Stevens Point area, including Stevens Point, Plover, Whiting, and Park Ridge, as well as several towns and nearby Junction City and part of Milladore. The school mascot is a panther. Kaukauna, Wisconsin
Kaukauna () is a city in Outagamie and Calumet counties, Wisconsin, United States. It is situated on the Fox River, approximately north of Milwaukee. The population was 15,462 at the 2010 census. It is a part of the Appleton, Wisconsin Metropolitan Statistical Area. History Kaukauna is a Native American word and in various languages means "portage", "long portage", "place where pickerel are caught", and "place of pike". This area was traditionally home to the Ho-Chunk and Menominee peoples. The first Europeans in the area were the French. The first Catholic missionary in the area, Fr. Claude Allouez, commented on the "apple trees and vine stalks in abundance" that he found the people of Kaukauna cultivating. Menasha () is a city in Calumet and Winnebago counties in the U.S. state of Wisconsin. The population was 18,268 at the 2020 census. Of this, 15,144 were in Winnebago County, and 2,209 were in Calumet County. The city is located mostly in Winnebago County; only a small portion is in the Town of Harrison in Calumet County. Doty Island is located partially in Menasha. The city's name comes from the Winnebago word meaning "thorn" or "island". Menasha High School
Menasha High School is a public high school located in Menasha, Wisconsin, formally organized in 1875. Athletics Menasha's athletic teams are known as the Blue Jays, and compete in the Bay Conference. For many years, they held a football rivalry with nearby Neenah High School, first playing in 1896. In 2014, Menasha won their first WIAA Division 2 Football Championship by a score of 37–17 against Waukesha West. Their football program is currently Division 3. Menasha's hockey program is split among two different collaborations with different high schools in the area, with the boys' collaboration being with Neenah, Hortonville, and Shiocton called the NHM Rockets. NHM participate in the Badgerland Conference and took 2nd place in the WIAA 2019 State Championship. Marshfield is a city in northwest Wood and southwest Marathon counties in the U.S. state of Wisconsin. It is located at the intersection of U.S. Highway 10, Highway 13 and Highway 97. Hortonville is a village in Outagamie County, Wisconsin, United States. The population was 2,711 at the 2010 census. Hortonville is located in the Fox Cities region and the Appleton-Oshkosh-Neenah, WI CSA, the third largest metropolitan area in Wisconsin. History In 1848, a man by the name of Alonzo Horton purchased 1,500 acres from the governor of Wisconsin, now known as the Town of Hortonia and the Village of Hortonville, for only 70 cents per acre. Schofield is a city in Marathon County, Wisconsin, United States. It is part of the Wausau, Wisconsin Metropolitan Statistical Area. The population was 2,169 at the 2010 census. The city was named for William Scholfield, who came to the area in the 1851 to open a sawmill. The city has since dropped the "L" from its name. Geography Schofield is located along the eastern shore of Lake Wausau, an impoundment of the Wisconsin River. The Fox River Classic Conference (often shortened to FRCC) is a high school athletic conference made up of ten full members, omne affiliate member and three football-only members in Northeastern Wisconsin, centering primarily around schools in Brown County, Wisconsin, Brown County, Lincoln High School (Manitowoc, Wisconsin), Manitowoc Lincoln High School, and the high schools of the Sheboygan Area School District, which maintained deep rivalries with the schools of the Green Bay Area School District in the forerunner Fox River Valley Conference.
