Valkyrie Plass (station)
Valkyrie plass was a metro station and a tram station on the Oslo Metro and the Oslo Tramway. The station was opened when the Holmenkollen Line was extended from Majorstuen to Nationaltheatret on 28 June 1928. The station was built in neoclassical style, and the architect was Kristofer Andreas Lange. Though not originally planned, when 800 m² of the street collapsed during the construction of the first parts of Fellestunnelen, a station was built anyway. It was closed in 1985 due its proximity to Majorstuen, and it was both difficult and dangerous to expand the station to accommodate trains with more than two cars (which was needed for the conversion of the western lines to metro). Valkyrie plass was also a light rail station on the Briskeby Line of the Oslo Tramway, between Schultz gate in the east and the terminus Majorstuen in the west. It was closed in 2004. In Norse mythology, a valkyrie ("chooser of the slain") is one of a host of female figures who guide souls of the dead to the god Odin's hall Valhalla. Kristofer Andreas Lange
Kristofer Andreas Lange (6 September 1886 – 27 April 1977) was a Norwegian architect. He was born in Kristiania (now Oslo), Norway. He was son of architect Balthazar Lange (1854-1937) and his wife, Elise Klöcker (1857-1934). He attended the Royal Arts School (1905–09) and Kristiania Technical School (1909). He continued his studies at Königlich Technische Hochschule, Charlottenburg in Berlin (1911–12). He worked as an assistant of architect Henrik Bull (1909–11) and (1912–13). He established his own practice in Kristiania during 1915. Valkyrien (TV Series)
''Valkyrien'' (English: ''Valkyrie'') is a 2017 Norwegian TV series first broadcast by NRK1. The series combines elements of the " Scandi noir" school of television with medical drama, crime drama and "a palpable sense of the paranoia induced by operating on the edges of society", drawing favorable comparisons with AMC's ''Breaking Bad''. Schultz' gate station was a tram stop on the Oslo Tramway located in the Bogstadveien Street. It was preceded by the Majorstuen stop and succeeded by Rosenborg stop on the Briskeby Line. Briskeby Line
The Briskeby Line ( no, Briskebylinjen) is a line of the Oslo Tramway in Norway. It runs westwards from Jernbanetorget in the city center, passing through the neighborhoods of Briskeby and Uranienborg before reaching its terminus at Majorstuen. The section from Jernbanetorget to Inkognitogata is shared with the Skøyen Line; on this section it connects with the important transport hub Nationatheatret. This part is variously served by route 11, 12 and 13. From the Inkognitogata stop, the line moves through the residential areas around the Royal Palace, in the streets named Riddervolds gate, Briskebyveien, Holtegata and Bogstadveien. The part of the line in Bogstadveien from Majorstuen to Rosenborg is also served by route 19, which operates the Homansbyen Line.
