Valkó is a village and commune in the county of Pest in Hungary. Location Valkó is located in central Hungary, in the eastern part of Pest County. Transportation This settlement has roads to Vácszentlászló and Gödöllő. Valkó has regular buses to Vácszentlászló, Gödöllő and Budapest, but rare buses travels to Tóalmás and Jászberény, too. The nearest motorway is the M3, which can be approached through Gödöllő. Valkó County
Valkó County ( hu, Valkó vármegye, hr, Vukovska županija, sr, Вуковска жупанија) was an administrative unit (county) of the medieval Kingdom of Hungary. It was established in the 13th century, and included most territories of the present day Vukovar-Syrmia County, in modern Croatia, and western parts of the present day Syrmia District, in modern Serbia. The most important cities of the county were Vukovar and Ilok. Its territory was conquered by the Ottoman Turks in the first half of the 16th century. The region was liberated during the Austro-Turkish War (1683-1699), but the county was not reestablished, since its territory was incorporated into the newly created Syrmia County. Ernest Valko
Ernest Valko, JUDr., PhD. (10 August 1953 – 8 November 2010) was the former Chairman of the Czechoslovak Constitutional Court and prominent Slovak lawyer. Valko was shot dead inside his home in Limbach in 2010. As of May 2011, the investigation is still ongoing. According to newspaper Nový Čas, one of the versions points to an organized crime group from Bratislava. Ernest Valko was connected to numerous high-profile lawsuits at the time of his death. Education Ernest Valko was born in Spišská Nová Ves, at that time Czechoslovakia. He received his M.A. at the Faculty of Law, Comenius University in Bratislava (1973–1977). In 1979 he received his rigorosum at the same school. From 2000 to 2004 he studied postgradually at the Institute of State and Law of the Slovak Academy of Sciences, earning his dissertation in 2004.
