Valery Todorovsky
Valery Petrovich Todorovsky (russian: Вале́рий Петро́вич Тодоро́вский; born 9 May 1962, in Odessa) is a Russian film director, screenwriter, TV producer whose best known film is '' Hipsters'' (2008). He is the son of Pyotr Todorovsky. Cinema Of his earlier films, ''The Hearse (Katafalk)'' won the Grand Prix at Mannheim (1990) and ''Love (Lyubov)'' received Ecumenical Prize at Cannes (1992), and won awards at Sozvezdie, Chicago, Geneva and Montpellier Film Festivals. Nikita Khrushchev
Nikita Sergeyevich Khrushchev (– 11 September 1971) was the First Secretary of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union from 1953 to 1964 and chairman of the country's Council of Ministers from 1958 to 1964. ''The Thaw'' (russian: Оттепель, Ottepel) is a Russian television series which debuted in 2013. Valery Todorovsky debuted as a TV director with it. The series is a melodrama about life in the Soviet Union during the Khrushchev Thaw, specifically about film artists of the age. Relational is that Todorovsky's father worked on film in roughly this era. In the West the series has been compared to ''Mad Men'' in terms of tone and visuals, though the subject and plots are quite different. Plot The series is set in 1961. ''Brigada'' (russian: Бригада), also known as ''Law of the Lawless'', is a Russian 15-episode crime television miniseries that debuted in 2002. It became very popular in Russia and ex-Soviet countries as well as Eastern Europe, but received criticism for positive portrayal of criminals and aestheticization of violence. The miniseries follows the story of four best friends from 1989 to 2000, and follows their rise in the world of crime from a local gang of petty thugs to a true mafia, mainly concentrating on the leader of the group, Sasha Belov, played by Sergei Bezrukov. The Nika Award (sometimes styled NIKA Award) is the main annual national film award in Russia, presented by the Russian Academy of Cinema Arts and Science, and seen as the national equivalent of the Oscars. The Golden Eagle Award (russian: link=no, премия Золотой Орёл) is an award given by the National Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences of Russia to recognize excellence of professionals in the film industry, directors, actors, and writers. Modelled after the American Golden Globe Awards, the formal ceremony at which the awards are presented is one of the most prominent award ceremonies in Russia, alongside the Nika Award. The national Russian award is given out in 20 categories each January for motion pictures and TV series produced in Russia during the previous year. Renata Muratovna Litvinova (russian: Рената Муратовна Литвинова; born 12 January 1967) is a Russian actress, film director, and screenwriter. Biography Litvinova was born in Moscow to Volga Tatar father Murat Aminovich Vergazov and a Russian mother, Alisa Mikhailovna Litvinova. Both her parents were doctors. They divorced when Renata was just one year old. After school, she entered VGIK in 1984 and graduated in 1989.
