Valery Androsov
Valery Vladimirovich Androsov (russian: Валерий Владимирович Андросов) (born February 12, 1939, Buy, Russian SFSR) is a Russian painter and architect, and director of the Mytishchi Art Gallery. Biography Androsov was born in the town of Buy in the Kostroma region. He was graduated from Penza Art College in 1961 and the Moscow Higher School of Industrial Art in 1969. For many years, he worked as a senior artist and industrial designer in Mytishchi in the Moscow region, at the Mosstroyplasmass plant. Androsov headed the Department of Aesthetics and led a team of artists of various specialties, such as ornamentationists, interior designers, landscape designers, and photographers. He has created numerous designs for public and industrial interior spaces. He teaches interior design and layout at the Archimedes Children's School of Architecture and Art. Buy (town)
Buy (russian: Буй) is a town in Kostroma Oblast, Russia, which stands on the Kostroma River. Population: History Buy was originally a trading post and protected by a hill fortress of Finno-Ugrian Meri people c. 400–500 CE. Its original Meri name is not known, but in Finnish language it was called either Vuoksensuu or Vieksansuu (lit. ''Mouth of Vuoksi/Vieksa''). It was inhabited by the Finno-Ugrian peoples at least up to the Mongol invasion of Russia in 1237–1238. During the Mongol threat, some inhabitants of Kostroma sought refuge in Buy, and it seems that they renamed the place Buy (Vui, Bui) instead of using the Finno-Ugrian name which was difficult for them to pronounce, but the origin of the Russian name comes from the old Meri name. Modern Buy was founded in 1536 as a fortified point at the confluence of the Kostroma and the Vyoksa Rivers. The Medal "Veteran of Labour" (russian: медаль «Ветеран труда») was a civilian labour award of the Soviet Union established on January 18, 1974 by Decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR to honour workers for many years of hard work in the national economy, sciences, culture, education, healthcare, government agencies and public organizations. Although it only had a relatively short eighteen years of existence, it was awarded nearly forty million times. Its regulations were detailed and approved by decree number 5999-VIII of May 20, 1974. Its statute was amended by multiple successive decrees of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR, first on June 8, 1977, then on August 12, 1983 and lastly on December 28, 1987.
