Roman Naming Conventions
Over the course of some fourteen centuries, the Ancient Rome, Romans and other peoples of Italy employed a system of nomenclature that differed from that used by other cultures of Europe and the Mediterranean Sea, consisting of a combination of given name, personal and surname, family names. Although conventionally referred to as the , the combination of praenomen, Nomen (Roman name), nomen, and cognomen that have come to be regarded as the basic elements of the Roman name in fact represent a continuous process of development, from at least the seventh century BC to the end of the seventh century AD. Valeriu Munteanu (politician)
Valeriu Munteanu (born 28 December 1980) is a Moldovan-Romanian politician, who served as Minister of Environment from 2015 to 2017, member of Parliament of Moldova from 2009 to 2015 and mayor of Floreni from 2007 to 2009. He also held the position of Deputy Chairman of the Liberal Party from 2010 to 2018. He has been Chairman of Save Bessarabia Union (USB) 2019—2021. Currently, he is a vice-president of Alliance for the Union of Romanians (AUR). He was elected into the Chamber of Deputies of Romania in 2024, representing AUR. Political career In the general local elections on 3 June 2007 he was elected mayor of his hometown, Floreni. Since 7 February 2008 he has been a member of the Liberal Party; in 2010 he was elected as the party's vice-president. On 11 December 2018 he resigned from Liberal Party. For the parliamentary elections of 5 April 2009, Valeriu Munteanu was ranked 37th in the list of candidates of the Liberal Party, failing to accede to Parliament. A few ...
