Valerie Van Roon
Valerie van Roon (born 13 August 1998) is a Dutch swimmer. She is a three-time European Champion and a three-time World silver medalist. Career van Roon competed at the 2014 European Junior Championships where she won the bronze medal in the 50 m freestyle and in the mixed freestyle. She competed at the 2017 European Short Course Championships in the 4×50 m freestyle relay along with Ranomi Kromowidjojo, Femke Heemskerk, and Tamara van Vliet, and they won the gold medal and set the world record with a time of 1:33.91. She also competed in the heats of the 4×50 m mixed freestyle, and the Dutch team won the gold medal. At the 2018 FINA World Championships, she competed in the women's 4 × 50 m freestyle with Ranomi Kromowidjojo, Femke Heemskerk, and Kim Busch, and they won the silver medal behind the United States. 2017 European Short Course Swimming Championships
The 2017 European Short Course Swimming Championships took place in Copenhagen, Denmark from 13 to 17 December 2017. The meet was held in the Royal Arena, which was finished in early 2017. It was the first major sports event in this arena, which has a capacity of circa 12,500. It was the second time that Denmark hosted this event, after the 2013 edition in Herning. Bidding process Poland and Italy were also bidding to host the championships. The decision to select Copenhagen was announced by LEN President Paolo Barelli on 9 October 2015. Kira Marije Toussaint (born 22 May 1994) is a Dutch competitive swimmer who specialises in backstroke. She is the former world record holder in the short course 50 metre backstroke and the Dutch record holder in the long course 50 metre backstroke and 100 metre backstroke, and the short course 50 metre, 100 metre, and 200 metre backstroke. Jesse Puts (; born 1 August 1994) is a Dutch competitive swimmer who specializes in freestyle. He is the 2016 world champion in the 50 meter freestyle (short course). He holds the Dutch records in this event in both long course and short course, as well as in the 100 meter freestyle (short course). Ranomi Kromowidjojo (; born 20 August 1990) is a retired Dutch swimmer of mixed Dutch-Javanese Surinamese origin who mainly specialises in sprint freestyle events.
