Biography Early years Born in Omsk in Siberia on , Kuybyshev studied at the , a Cadet Corps in Omsk. He joined the Bolshevik faction of the Russian Social Democratic Labour Party in 1904. The following year, he entered the Imperial Military-medical Academy in Saint Petersburg, but was expelled in 1906 for controversial political activities. Valerian Kalinka
Valerian Kalinka (or Walerian Kalinka; 1826–1886) was a Polish priest and historian. Kalinka was born near Cracow, but fled from Poland in 1846 on account of political entanglements and his involvement in the Krakow Uprising. Kalinka was the founder of the Polish branch of the Resurrectionist Order. He worked on the "Czas" newspaper in 1848, but finally took refuge in Paris, where his first work was written -- ''Galicia und Cracoio'', an historical and social picture of the country from 1772 to 1850. He afterwards thought of writing a history of Polish emigration, but eventually chose to edit a weekly periodical entitled "Political Polish News", the principal contributors to which were himself and Julian Klaczko. Valerian "Valiko" Gunia ( ka, ვალერიან ალიკოგუნია; 21 January 1862 – 31 July 1938) was a Georgian dramatist, actor, director, critic, and translator. His contribution to the Georgian scene won him the title of People's Artist in 1934. Born in the village of Eki, Kutais Governorate, Russian Empire, in what is now the Senaki Municipality of a family of untitled Mingrelian nobility, Gunia attended the ''realschule'' in Tiflis until being expelled for participation in student protests in 1881. Valerian Michaylovich Griboedov formerly romanized as: Valerian Michaelovich Gribayedoff (Russian: Валериан Михайлович Грибоедов) (1858–1908) was a Russian journalist and illustrator most famous for introducing illustrated drawings into newspapers and capturing some of the only photos during the trial for the Dreyfus Affair in 1897. He was born in Kronstadt, Russia in 1858, and many believed him to have been of noble birth, possibly related to Alexander Griboyedov. Educated in St. Petersburg, England, France, and Germany, he came later to America working as a journalist, rising to prominence by recreating drawings from photos to be included in the newspapers that were more lifelike than any others in the field. Valerian Gracias (23 October 1900 – 11 September 1978) was an Indian Cardinal of the Roman Catholic Church. He served as Archbishop of Bombay from 1950 until his death and was elevated to the rank of cardinal in 1953 by Pope Pius XII. Biography Valerian Gracias was born in Karachi, British India (in modern Pakistan), to José (d. 1902) and Carlota Gracias. His parents were from Dramapur/Navelim, Goa, working in Karachi.
