Valeria Mancinelli
Valeria Mancinelli (born 13 March 1955) is an Italian politician. She is a member of the Democratic Party. Mancinelli was elected Mayor of Ancona on 11 June 2013 and re-confirmed for the second term on 25 June 2018. She is the first woman to be elected mayor of the city of Ancona. The Mayor of Ancona is an elected politician who, along with the Ancona's City Council, is accountable for the strategic government of Ancona in Marche, Italy. ''il Resto del Carlino'' is an Italian newspaper based in Bologna, and is one of the oldest newspapers in Italy. Its rather evocative name means "the change you get from a ''carlino''", which the smallest part of the Papal ''baiocco'' (no longer legal tender in united Italy but a word still used in Bologna to refer to 10 cent coins): a sheet of local news was given out in shops to make up for the change owing after buying a cigar (which was worth 8 cents). The 2013 Italian local elections were held on different dates; most on 26–27 May, with a second round on 9–10 June. World Mayor
World Mayor is a biennial award organized by the City Mayors Foundation since 2004. It intends to raise the profile of mayors worldwide, as well as honour those who have served their communities well and who have contributed to the well-being of cities, nationally and internationally.
