Valeri Kocharov
Valeri Kocharov ( ka, ვალერი კოჩაროვი; 1948 – 3 May 2022) was a Georgian artist, rock guitarist, and singer. Biography Kocharov's musical career began in the early 1970s. Throughout his career, he has been a member of various musical groups, including "Quadrat", Cold Flame ("Cold Flame") and The Blitz, known for his original compositions (in Georgian and Russian) and The Beatles cover versions. Kocharov's name is associated with the promotion of The Beatles in Georgia. In 1989, at the Beatles's traditional competition, the festival's top prize for the British quartet's best external and musical imitation went to The Blitz. Kocharov died of a stroke on 3 May 2022 at the age of 74. Georgian (, , ) is the most widely-spoken Kartvelian language, and serves as the literary language or lingua franca for speakers of related languages. It is the official language of Georgia and the native or primary language of 87.6% of its population. Its speakers today number approximately four million. Nikoloz Valerieovich Kocharov ( ka, ნიკოლოზ ვალერიოვიჩი კოჩაროვი), known as Nika Kocharov ( ka, ნიკა კოჩაროვი) is a Georgian singer-songwriter, composer, musician and actor who is part of progressive rock band Circus Mircus, who represented Georgia in the Eurovision Song Contest 2022. He was also the frontman of indie rock band Young Georgian Lolitaz, who represented Georgia in the Eurovision Song Contest 2016. He is the son of musician Valeri Kocharov. Career Kocharov was born in 1980 in Tbilisi, Georgia. He started his musical career aged 15 when he formed his first band, ''Nadzvis Khe''.
