Valentina Truppa
Valentina Truppa (born 18 March 1986 in Milan) is an Italian Olympic dressage rider. She represented Italy in two Summer Olympics (2012 and 2016 Summer Olympics). Her best Olympic result came in 2012 when she placed 15th individually. Truppa also competed at the 2014 World Equestrian Games and at three European Dressage Championships (in 2011, 2013 and 2021). She placed 12th in the team competition in 2013, while her current best individual placement is 16th from 2011. European Dressage Championships
The European Dressage Championships are the European championships for the equestrian discipline of dressage. They are held every two years in odd-numbered years. Gold, silver, and bronze medals are awarded in both individual and team competitions. There are also championships held for juniors, young riders, and ponies. Since 2015, the competition has shared a site and branding with vaulting, reining, jumping, and driving events. For sponsorship reasons, eventing is not included, as it is part of the FEI European Championships, echoing the combined World Equestrian Games concept. The individual dressage in equestrian at the 2012 Olympic Games in London was held at Greenwich Park from 2 to 9 August. Great Britain's Charlotte Dujardin won the gold medal and Laura Bechtolsheimer the bronze. The silver was won by Adelinde Cornelissen of the Netherlands. Competition format The team and individual dressage competitions used the same results. Dressage had three phases, with the last being used only for the individual event. The first phase was the Grand Prix. Individuals advanced to the second phase, the Grand Prix Special, if they were on one of the top seven teams or were one of the top 11 remaining competitors.
