The Valencian derby ( es, Derbi Valenciano) or most commonly known as "Derby del Turia", is the name given to any association football match contested between Levante UD, Levante and Valencia CF, Valencia, the two main clubs in the city of Valencia, Spain. History The first match between Levante and Valencia was played in 1920, during the Regional Championship of Valencia. Both teams did not meet in La Liga until 1963. Valencia ( va, València) is the capital of the Autonomous communities of Spain, autonomous community of Valencian Community, Valencia and the Municipalities of Spain, third-most populated municipality in Spain, with 791,413 inhabitants. Edwin Arturo Congo Murillo (born 7 October 1976) is a Colombian retired professional footballer who played as a forward. Basing his game in physical display, he played most of his professional career in Spain, appearing for a host of clubs in various league levels and amassing league totals of 164 matches and 33 goals (44 games and three goals in La Liga) over eight seasons. 2007–08 La Liga
The 2007–08 La Liga season, the 77th since its establishment, started on 25 August 2007 and finished on 18 May 2008. Real Madrid defended their La Liga title successfully after a 2–1 victory over Osasuna. This season, all European leagues ended earlier than the previous season, due to the UEFA Euro 2008 championship. Joaquín Sánchez Rodríguez (; born 21 July 1981), known simply as Joaquín, is a Spanish professional footballer who plays for and captains La Liga club Real Betis as a right winger. Rahamat Riga Mustapha (born 10 October 1981) is a Ghanaian-born Dutch professional footballer who last played as a striker for Pune F.C. in the Indian I-League.
