Valdemar Lund Jensen (born 28 May 2003) is a Danish professional footballer who plays as a centre-back for F.C. Copenhagen. Early career Born in Sundby, Denmark, Valdemar played with Sundby Boldklub and AB Tårnby, before entering the FC Copenhagen youth system, becoming captain of the club's under-19s, and signing his first professional contract on 20 December 2020, tying him to the club until June 2023. Club career He made his professional and Danish Superliga debut as a late substitute with Copenhagen, replacing William Bøving in a 3–0 win over Vejle on 31 October 2021. Tipped as a promising prospective first team player, he injured his hip in November that same year, requiring an operation and only allowing a return late in the season. Sundby, Copenhagen
Sundby is a neighbourhood on Amager in Copenhagen, Denmark. It is often also referred to as Sundbyerne (plural form) since a distinction is traditionally made between Sundbyvester (Sundby West) and Sundbyøster (Sundby East), located on each their side of Amagerbrogade. History Early history Sundbyvester (''Sundby occidentali'') and Sundbyøster (''Sundby orientali'') were originally two villages known from about 1100. They consisting of two rows of farmsteads extending from Amager Road, now Amagerbrogade, roughly where present day Øresundsvej and Englandsvej are found today, separating their farm land to the south from their pastures to the north. The 2022–23 Danish Cup, also known as Pokalen, was the 69th season of the Danish Cup competition. F.C. Copenhagen took the tournament, securing its 9th Cup with a 1–0 win over AaB and qualifying for the Europa Conference League second qualifying round.
