Valdas Dambrauskas
Valdas Dambrauskas (born 7 January 1977) is a Lithuanian professional football manager who is the current manager of Greek Super League club OFI. Managerial career Early career Valdas Dambrauskas studied Sport Science and Coaching in London Metropolitan University and worked as a coach in many famous youth academies, including Fulham, Manchester United and Brentford. His first senior managerial position was with Kingsbury London Tigers in Spartan South Midlands Football League Premier Division, where he managed team to the highest result in club history. For his work Dambrauskas was awarded in Active Westminster Awards. He also was head coach of Lithuania national under-17 football team between 2009 and 2010. Pakruojis
Pakruojis () is a city in Lithuania. It is situated on the Kruoja River, which has a dam above the city. Forty three buildings of the manor, mentioned in 1531 still survive. History Pakruojis and it neighbourhood are within the boundaries of the inhabited area of the Semigallian tribe. For a long time it was thought that the town was founded in 1585, when the town and Pakruojis manor were mentioned in land ownership records. This date has entered several encyclopedias. 2017 A Lyga
The 2017 A Lyga was the 28th season of the A Lyga, the top-tier association football league of Lithuania. The season began on 3 March 2017 and ended on 19 November 2017. All eight teams from the previous season remained and competed in the league, while Žalgiris Vilnius began the season as defending champions having won fourth consecutive league title last year. Sūduva Marijampolė won the championship for the first time in their 96-year history, becoming the eighth club to win the league since its creation in 1991. FC Stumbras
Football Club Stumbras was a professional football club, based in Kaunas, Lithuania, which played in A Lyga, the top tier of Lithuanian football. Founded in 2013 on the basis of the NFA, the club has reached the heights of Lithuanian football in a fairly short period of time. It became infamous for one-sided footballer contracts. The club stopped functioning mid-season in 2019 after the owner pulled out the funds. The club played its home matches at the Darius and Girėnas Stadium (capacity 9,180) and used the NFA stadium in Kaunas (capacity 500) as an alternative. The A Lyga is the top division of professional football in Lithuania. The A Lyga is an abbreviation of Aukščiausia lyga meaning Highest League. It is organized by Lithuanian Football Federation LFF ( lt, Lietuvos Futbolo Federacija). The Aukščiausia lyga also existed during the Soviet period of Lithuania, but was not considered to be a professional league until dissolution of the Soviet Union. The league size has varied between 8 and 12 teams in the recent seasons, however 2020 A Lyga the league featured record low of only 6 teams. But in the latest 2021 A Lyga season there were 10 teams. The Lithuanian Supercup () or LFF Supercup is an annual football match contested between the champions of the previous A Lyga season and the holders of the Lithuanian Football Cup. It is organised by and named after Lithuanian Football Federation and played at the beginning of the season. For sponsorship reasons, it is currently also known as the LFF Optibet Supercup. Until 2016, if the Lithuanian championship and the Cup was won by the same team, the match was not held and the Supercup was awarded automatically to the winning team. Valdas Urbonas (born 29 November 1967) is a Lithuanian professional football manager and former player who currently is the manager of the Lithuanian national team. Club career Urbonas began his career at Mokslas Vilnius, before moving to Neris Vilnius in 1990. In 1991, Urbonas briefly played for Vienybė Ukmergė, before moving to Vilnius Makabi. In 1992, after a spell with Minija Kretinga, Urbonas joined Geležinis Vilkas. In 1993, Urbonas signed for Žalgiris, making 41 A Lyga appearances over the course of four years, scoring twice. In 1997, Urbonas joined Hungarian club Videoton. Urbonas made 51 NB I appearances in three seasons for the club, scoring five times.
