Mtkvari
The Kura is an east-flowing river south of the Greater Caucasus Mountains which drains the southern slopes of the Greater Caucasus east into the Caspian Sea. It also drains the north side of the Lesser Caucasus while its main tributary, the Aras, drains the south side of those mountains. Zakaria Paliashvili Street ( ka, ზაქარია ფალიაშვილის ქუჩა) is a street of Tbilisi and is named after the Georgian composer Zacharia Paliashvili. Turtle Lake is a direct English translation of Kus Tba ( ka, კუს ტბა, tr), a small lake at the outskirts of Tbilisi, the capital of Georgia. The other, less frequently used name of this lake is K'ork'i (ქორქის ტბა). Overview Turtle Lake - or Kork Lake - is a lake in Georgia, in the city of Tbilisi. It is located southwest of the city center, on the northern slope of the Mtatsminda ridge, at an altitude of 686.7 m above sea level. Vake Park ( ka, ვაკის პარკი) is a public park in Tbilisi. The park was opened in 1946 and is located in the Vake district of Tbilisi at the western end of Chavchavadze Avenue. World War IIbr>Memorialsits at the top of the hill in the park. From the north, Vake Park and Chavchavadze Avenue are connected by a wide staircase. The staircase is located on the main axis of the park, which is extended by a whole cascade of fountains. The central axis of the park is completed by the World War II Glory Memorial on the Ridge. Vere (river)
The Vere ( ka, ვერე) is a river in eastern Georgia, originating in the eastern slopes of the Trialeti Range, near Mount Didgori, and flowing into the Mtkvari (Kura) as its right tributary in Tbilisi, the capital of Georgia. Tbilisi Spiritual Seminary
Tbilisi Theological Seminary ( ka, თბილისის სასულიერო სემინარია; russian: Тбили́сская духо́вная семина́рия) is a spiritual training institution, which operated from 1817 to 1919 in the Georgian Exarchate of the Russian Orthodox Church. When Joseph Stalin was fourteen in 1894, he received a scholarship. The language of instruction was Russian, and the Georgian language was disparaged by the Russian priests who taught there. Stalin was a voracious reader in both languages. He became a Georgian cultural nationalist. He anonymously published poetry in Georgian in the local press and engaged in student politics. Although his performance had been good, he was expelled in 1899 after missing his final exams.
