Vaisoori
''Vaisoori'' is a Maldivian anthology television series directed by Arifa Ibrahim. Originally aired from 2003 to 2004 on the channel Television Maldives, the series was developed as a 52-episodes series consisting of ten segments. The longest running segment from the series, "An'dhiri Hayaaiy" consists of 33 episodes and stars Ali Shameel, Nooma Ibrahim, Niuma Mohamed, Ahmed Asim, Aminath Rishfa, Mariyam Sheleen and Sheereen Abdul Wahid in main roles. This segment narrates the downturn of an only child in the family for choosing a path her parents disapproves. This is followed by the segment "Kurin Visnaa Dhevunu Nama", consisting of 9 episodes, which follows the life of a disobedient girl played by Hawwa Enee. The segment "Namoonaa Akah Vaasheve!" was split into three episodes, while "Ih'thiraam Hoadhavaa" was released as two episodes. Rest of the segments were released as a single episode. Arifa Ibrahim
Arifa Ibrahim (born 22 June 1955) is a Maldivian actress, producer, director and writer. Early life Daughter of late Ibrahim Fulhu and late Fathma Fulhu, Arifa Ibrahim was born on 22 June 1955. She got married at the age of fourteen and is blessed with five daughters and one son. During her early life, Arifa was famous for stencil designing. Hassan Afeef
Hassan Afeef is a Maldivian film actor. He is celebrated as the actor being featured in the first Maldivian film and song. He is also noted to be the actor to have worked with most directors away from home and acted in most films that were shot abroad. Career In late 1979, Hassan Afeef, a cinema-goer used to watch several Bollywood films screened at limited cinemas in Maldives and imitate their acting afterwards among friends and family. A group of Maldivians including Afeef came up with the idea of making a regional film for the Maldivian audience though several obstacles emerged including incapability to secure finance and equipment. Suneetha Ali (born 28 May 1977) is a Maldivian choreographer, actress and producer. Early life Suneetha Ali was born on 28 May 1977 in Aa. Ukulhas. Fauziyya Hassan
Fauziyya Hassan (8 January 1942 – 31 August 2022) was a Maldivian film actress. She made her film debut in ''Sidha'' in 1985. In 1994 she was arrested by the Indian police on espionage charges relating to the Indian Space Research Organisation. She and a friend were accused of passing sensitive defence information to Pakistan. The espionage case against Hassan was not proven and eventually other charges were dropped, though she spent three years in prison under the National Security Act. After her release Hassan appeared in a number of television dramas and films, including a run of horror films in the early 2000s. Moosa Manik commonly known as Chilhiya Moosa Manik (30 January 1940 – 24 August 2021) was a Maldivian film actor and writer. Early life In 1977, while studying at Majeediyya School, Manik participated in the theatre play performed to celebrate the Golden jubilee of Majeediyya School. He then joined several other theatre performances as a hobby though his first priority lies in sketching and drawing, followed by writing.
