''Vagabundo'' is a concept album by Robi Dräco Rosa. It was recorded in Surrey, England under the creative direction of Roxy Music guitarist Phil Manzanera. The music video for "Madre Tierra" was directed by Angela Alvarado and won Best Rock Video in the 1997 Latin Music Awards. The album was also included in ''Spin Magazines 1997 Top 10 list of greatest Latin Rock records of all time. Draco Rosa
Draco Cornelius Rosa Suárez (; born Robert Edward Rosa Suárez, June 27, 1969), also known as Draco Rosa, Robi Draco Rosa or simply Robi or Draco, is a Puerto Rican singer, musician, songwriter and entrepreneur. Rosa originally garnered fame as a member of boy band Menudo in the 1980s, singing lead on the band's biggest stateside hit, " Hold Me" and featuring prominently in the accompanying music video. After leaving the band he moved to Brazil where he released two albums, achieving mainstream success. Following a brief subsequent stint in California, he returned to New York and joined the band Maggie's Dream, which split after only one album, allowing him to resume his solo career. The singer and composer has released numerous albums, and has composed multiple songs for Ednita Nazario, Julio Iglesias and former Menudo band-mate, Ricky Martin. Phil Manzanera
Phillip Geoffrey Targett-Adams (born 31 January 1951), known professionally as Phil Manzanera, is an English guitarist, songwriter and record producer. He is the lead guitarist with Roxy Music, and was the lead guitarist with 801, and Quiet Sun. In 2006, Manzanera co-produced David Gilmour's album ''On an Island'', and played in Gilmour's band for tours in Europe and North America. He wrote and presented a series of 14 one-hour radio programmes for station Planet Rock entitled ''The A-Z of Great Guitarists''. Early life Manzanera was born on 31 January 1951 in London, England, to a Colombian mother (nee Manzanera) and an English father, who worked for British Overseas Airways Corporation, and spent most of his childhood in different parts of the Americas, including Hawaii, Venezuela, Colombia, and Cuba. ''Mad Love'' is a concept album by Robi Draco Rosa. History In 2003, Draco prepared for the release of his most ambitious project titled ''Mad Love'' consisting of lugubrious gothic ballads and esoteric windblown burdens. The album was the first to earn Draco international recognition beyond Latin America, becoming widely popular in Europe. With most songs in English and collaborations with musicians from all around the world, ''Mad Love'' included two videos directed by his wife, Angela Alvarado, "Dancing in the Rain" and "Lie Without a Lover". It also debuted at #2 on ''Billboards Heatseeker charts and was considered the #1 Latin album of 2004 by New York’s Newsday. The video for "Crash Push" won the 2004 Latin Grammy Award for Best Video. Carla Azar
Carla Azar is an American drummer from Huntsville, Alabama and member of the band Autolux. She also plays guitar, bass guitar, keyboards, and sings. Azar played drums on Jack White's albums '' Blunderbuss'', ''Lazaretto'', and '' Boarding House Reach'', and also played live on tour with him. From 2009–2011, she collaborated with painter Mark Whalen (also known as Kill Pixie) on art exhibitions, creating music for installation rooms. She had a role in the 2014 film ''Frank'' starring Michael Fassbender and Domhnall Gleeson. Azar also played drums for Ednaswap for two albums and an EP. Roddy Lorimer
Roddy Lorimer (born 19 May 1953) is a Scottish musician who plays trumpet and flugelhorn. He has performed with a wide array of artists, including Blur, Gene, the Rolling Stones, Draco Rosa, the Who, the Style Council, Eric Clapton, Suede, Supergrass, Beyoncé, Jamiroquai, Dr John, the Waterboys, Nik Kershaw, Bruce Foxton, Fish (of Marillion). He is a founding member of the horn section Kick Horns. Career Lorimer studied the trumpet at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama in Glasgow. His classical music background can be heard quite distinctively in his work for the Waterboys' single "The Whole of the Moon", which later turned out to be the band's greatest commercial success. Lorimer includes another Waterboys recording, an arrangement of W. B. Yeats' poem "The Stolen Child", amongst his top ten favourite recordings of all time. A concept album is an album whose tracks hold a larger purpose or meaning collectively than they do individually. This is typically achieved through a single central narrative or theme, which can be instrumental, compositional, or lyrical. Sometimes the term is applied to albums considered to be of "uniform excellence" rather than an LP with an explicit musical or lyrical motif. There is no consensus among music critics as to the specific criteria for what a "concept album" is. Chris Eaton (Canadian Musician)
Chris Eaton (born 1971 in Moncton, New Brunswick) is the founder and lead vocalist of Toronto-based indie rock band Rock Plaza Central, as well as a novelist. Music career Eaton began as a solo artist, with various musicians backing him, often using musical improvisation. In 2003, the current line-up of Rock Plaza Central formed during such a gig in Toronto, and they recorded their first album in that incarnation only a month later. Their second album, '' Are We Not Horses'', was favorably reviewed by influential music journal Pitchfork Media. Writing career Eaton is also a published author.
