Stephanie "Step" Vaessen (born 11 February 1965) is a Dutch broadcast journalist, currently working as a Berlin correspondent for Al Jazeera English. Early life Vaessen is of Netherlands, Dutch origin and was born in Simpelveld in the province of Limburg (Netherlands), Limburg, in 1965. She graduated in psychology in Nijmegen and then took a postgraduate course in journalism in Tilburg. During her student years, she was involved in the Nijmegen squatter movement, and worked on the squatter radio-station Radio Rataplan. Wouter Vaes (born 9 February 1991) is a Dutch professional darts player who plays in British Darts Organisation (BDO) tournaments. Career Vaes' professional career started in the 2009 Sunparks Masters, where he finished among the Last 64. Since then he has competed in numerous tournaments and competitions, and have made it to several quarter finals and semi finals. He has made it to a single final round, in the 2016 Austria Open Vienna tournament, in which he lost against Robert Allenstein. Despite never winning a tournament in his career, Vaes qualified for the 2017 BDO World Darts Championship, where he lost 0–3 to Darryl Fitton. His first tournament win was the 2018 edition of the Antwerp Open where he beat Mario Vandenbogaerde 7–5 in the final. Stefaan Vaes (born February 29, 1976 in Herentals, Belgium) is a Belgian mathematician. Vaes studied mathematics at the KU Leuven with a diploma in 1998 and a PhD in 2001 with thesis advisor Alfons Van Daele and thesis Locally Compact Quantum Groups. As a postdoc he was from 1998 to 2002 at KU Leuven and from 1998 to 2002 in Paris, where he did research for CNRS. In 2002 he began part-time teaching at the KU Leuven, where he became an associate professor in 2006 and a full professor in 2009. He was a visiting professor in 2009 at Pierre and Marie Curie University (Paris VI) and in 2011 at Paris Diderot University (Paris VII) (where he habilitated in 2004). He retired from football shortly after joining Lierse, but returned to the game in 2008 with K.F.C. Verbroedering Geel for one season where his contract wasn't renewed. Leon Henry Vaessen (born 8 November 1940) was an English professional footballer of the 1950s and 1960s. He made over 50 appearances in The Football League. Playing career Born in New Cross, he joined Chelsea as a youngster, but was not offered a professional contract. In January 1958 he signed for Millwall and went on to make 26 Football League appearances for the "Lions", but never established himself as a regular starter. At the end of the 1960–61 season, he was transferred to Gillingham. He was initially a regular in the team, but fell out of favour, playing just once in the 1962–63 season, before being sold to Dover for a fee of £500. His last known club was Crawley Town.
