Vadim Shipachyov
Vadim Alexandrovich Shipachyov (russian: Вадим Александрович Шипачёв; born 12 March 1987) is a Russian professional ice hockey forward for Ak Bars Kazan of the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL). He previously played for Severstal Cherepovets, SKA Saint Petersburg, HC Dynamo Moscow of the KHL and the Vegas Golden Knights of the National Hockey League (NHL). Playing career On 4 May 2017, he signed with the Vegas Golden Knights making him the second person in history to be signed by the Golden Knights. On 15 October, he made his debut for the Golden Knights against the Boston Bruins and scored his first NHL goal on Bruins' goaltender Tuukka Rask. On 29 October, he was suspended by the Golden Knights for failing to report to their AHL affiliate. The Russian men's national ice hockey team (russian: Сборная России по хоккею с шайбой) is the national men's ice hockey team of Russia, overseen by the Ice Hockey Federation of Russia. As of 2021, they were rated third in the IIHF World Ranking. The team has competed internationally from 1992 until a 2022 ban, and is recognized by the IIHF as the successor to the Soviet Union team and CIS team. The 2015 IIHF World Championship was the 79th event hosted by the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF), held from 1–17 May 2015 in Prague and Ostrava, Czech Republic. It broke the historical attendance record of IIHF World Championships. Canada won their 25th title by defeating Russia 6–1 in the championship final game. Canada went undefeated at the tournament to win its first IIHF championship since 2007. With the win, Canadian captain Sidney Crosby became a member of the Triple Gold Club and the first to be the team captain for all three events. For winning all of its tournament games in regulation, the Canadian team earned the new Infront Team Jackpot award of one million Swiss francs. The 2014 IIHF World Championship was hosted by Belarus in its capital, Minsk, held from 9–25 May 2014. Sixteen national teams were competing in two venues, the Minsk-Arena and Chizhovka-Arena.
