V Sparks
V Sparks is an American glam rock band based in Chicago, Illinois, United States. Formed in 2005, by guitarist Prescott Kagan and vocalist/keyboardist Alan Lewis (a.k.a. V), V Sparks recorded their self-titled debut album in 2007, along with Mike Durband on bass and Ashok Warrier on drums, as well as a host of other studio musicians. In 2008, Durband and Warrier were replaced by new, full-time members, bassist Keith Hosmer and drummer Adam Long. With the addition of Hosmer and Long, the band began performing on a regular basis and writing new material. ''Biscuits and Tea,'' a three-song EP, was released in early 2010. Having played with the New York Dolls and Semi Precious Weapons, V Sparks has developed a following in Chicago's underground rock scene. New York Dolls
New York Dolls were an American rock band formed in New York City in 1971. Along with the Velvet Underground and the Stooges, they were one of the first bands of the early punk rock scenes. Although the band never achieved much commercial success and their original line-up fell apart quickly, the band's first two albums—'' New York Dolls'' (1973) and '' Too Much Too Soon'' (1974)—became among the most popular cult records in rock. The line-up at this time consisted of, vocalist David Johansen, guitarist Johnny Thunders, bassist Arthur Kane, guitarist and pianist Sylvain Sylvain, and drummer Jerry Nolan; the latter two had replaced Rick Rivets and Billy Murcia, respectively, in 1972. Semi Precious Weapons was an American rock band from New York City, New York, United States, consisting of Justin Tranter on vocals, Stevy Pyne on guitar, Cole Whittle on bass and Dan Crean on drums. The International Pop Overthrow (often referred to as simply The IPO) is an American-originated music festival, devoted to power pop music and related genres. Miss Alex White is the stage name for Alexandra Brooks White, an American musician from Chicago, Illinois, United States, and founder of Missile X Records born April 30, 1985.
