Voetbalverenging Zwaluwen Vlaardingen is a football club from Vlaardingen, Netherlands. The club was founded in 1935. Its first squad plays in the Hoofdklasse since 2010. History The first squad promoted to the Derde Klasse in 1946. Since, it has been hovering between de Derde, Tweede, and Eerste Klasse. Zwaluwen won the national KNVB Amateur Cup in 1951. In the 2021–22 season, Zwaluwen qualified for the promotion playoffs, but lost 6-2 on aggregate to RKAV Volendam in the first round. Vlaardingen () is a city in South Holland in the Netherlands. It is located on the north bank of the Nieuwe Maas river at the confluence with the Oude Maas. The municipality administers an area of , of which is land, with residents in . Geography The city is divided into a northern part (locally known as the "Holy") and a southern part by the A20 motorway. On the east the city is separated from Schiedam by the A4 motorway. Other places nearby are Maassluis to the west, Schipluiden and Delft to the north, Schiedam and Rotterdam to the east and Spijkenisse in the south-west, on the other side of the Nieuwe Maas. Gidi Jacobs
Egidius Simon "Gidi" Jacobs (15 January 1935 – 2 September 2016) was a Dutch professional footballer at Feyenoord and Hermes DVS. His position was midfielder. Jacobs later became a football manager, most notably at VV Zwaluwen. Player career Feyenoord and RVV Coal Jacobs initially played for RVV Coal, including in its first squad in the Tweede Klasse. In 1955, he joined Feyenoord's second squad. In the season of 1956–57, Jacobs played 3 games for Feyenoord's first squad in the Eredivisie, 2 of which for 90 minutes. He scored a decisive last-second goal in his debut game, on 23 September 1956 against Sportclub Enschede (later merged into FC Twente), after he entered 7 minutes before the end as a replacement for Piet Steenbergen. Danny Schenkel (born 1 April 1978) is a Dutch former footballer and current manager. Johannes Frederik "Joop" Hiele (born 25 December 1958 in Rotterdam) is a former football goalkeeper from the Netherlands, who earned seven caps for the Netherlands national football team. He was a member of the Dutch team that won the European title at the 1988 European Football Championship in West Germany, but was second choice behind Hans van Breukelen. Adrie Poldervaart (born 20 December 1970) iis a Dutch professional football manager and former player who is the head coach of Eerste Divisie club De Graafschap. Sports career Poldervaart played in his youth and senior career exclusively for OHVV Oudenhorn. Poldervaart was hired in 1992 as a sports physiotherapist at Excelsior Rotterdam. He has also been a physiotherapist for VV Nieuwenhoorn. Next to being a physiotherapist at Excelsior, in 1998 he became player/manager at OHVV. Ron Timmers
Ron Timmers (born 11 August 1973) is a Dutch former footballer and current manager who is the head coach of IFC. He is a resident of Heer Oudelands Ambacht, Zwijndrecht. Football career Timmers played professionally in FC Dordrecht and Sparta Rotterdam. On 24 November 1985, in the 1985–86 KNVB Cup, he scored the first equalizer for FC Dordrecht, in a game that Dordrecht lost 3–2 to RBC Roosendaal. Since 2000 Timmers coached Sliedrecht, SVW, Rijsoord, Groote Lindt, Leonidas, VV Nieuwerkerk, and Zwaluwen (2010–2011).
