VTM (TV Channel)
VTM or Vlaamse Televisie Maatschappij (English: ''Flemish Television Company'') is the main commercial television station in Flanders (the Dutch-speaking northern region of Belgium) and forms part of a network of channels owned by DPG Media (formerly Medialaan). It was launched on February 1, 1989 as the second commercial television channel in Belgium after the French-speaking RTL-TVI, and quickly became the most popular TV channel in the Flemish part of Belgium. Early programming consisted of local versions of game shows like 'Rad Van Fortuin' (Wheel of Fortune) or 'Waagstuk!' (Jeopardy!). The channel is also considered to have been instrumental in the rebirth of the local music industry as it was the first TV channel to promote local music through its primetime TV show 'Tien om te zien' (Ten to see), a weekly chart show with only local music productions. It is part of the franchise that started in the Netherlands as ''The Voice of Holland''. It kicked off on November 25, 2011 on VTM, shortly before the francophone Belgian variant ''The Voice Belgique'' went on air. As of 2022, the show has aired for eight seasons. One of the important premises of the show is the quality of the singing talent. ''The Masked Singer'' is a Belgian reality singing competition television series based on the ''Masked Singer'' franchise which originated from the South Korean version of the show ''King of Mask Singer''. It premiered on VTM on 18 September 2020, and is hosted by Niels Destadsbader. The winner of the first series was Sandra Kim. The winner of the second series was Camille Dhont. The second series premiered 14 January 2022 and ended on 18 March 2022. The third season started 3 January 2023. A live concert was announced.
