VSG Altglienicke Berlin
VSG Altglienicke is a German sports club based in the locality of Altglienicke in the borough of Treptow-Köpenick of eastern Berlin. VSG Altglienicke is a multi-sports club, which besides its football department, also offers its members volleyball, handball, bowling, seniors activities and gymnastics. Its football team plays in the fourth tier Regionalliga Nordost. History ''VSG'' acknowledges the role of several local Altglienicke sides in the club's history. The first of these is ''MTV Spiess'' founded in 1883 out of a gymnastics club formed in mid-century. As was common at the time the club had a nationalistic, martial character. This sports association soon adopted handball, a legacy passed on to the modern day club. Two other local clubs, ''Altenglienicker Arbeiter- und Turnsportverein'' (also known as ''Bewegungsclub Freiheit'') and ''Altglienicker Ballspielclub'' were formed in 1906. Berlin Cup
The Berliner Landespokal ( en, Berlin Cup) is an annual football cup competition held by the Berlin Football Association (German: Berliner Fußballverband, BFV). The cup winner qualifies for the national DFB-Pokal. Cup finals are usually held in the Friedrich-Ludwig-Jahn-Sportpark. The competition has been held since 1906, with various interruptions. Record winners are Tennis Borussia Berlin with a total of 16 titles. It is one of the 21 regional cup competitions in Germany. The 2020–21 Regionalliga was the 13th season of the Regionalliga, the ninth under the new format, as the fourth tier of the German football league system. Format A new promotion format was decided on in 2019. From this season onward, the Regionalliga Südwest and West receive a fixed promotion spot. A third promotion spot rotates between the other three divisions, with the remaining two champions participating in play-offs for a fourth spot. A draw has determined that the Regionalliga Nordost receives the third direct promotion spot this season. The 2019–20 Regionalliga was the twelfth season of the Regionalliga, the eighth under the new format, as the fourth tier of the German football league system.
