The Vaccine Safety Datalink Project (VSD) was established in 1990 by the United States Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to study the adverse effects of vaccines. Four large health maintenance organizations, including Kaiser Permanente, were initially recruited to provide the CDC with medical data on vaccination histories, health outcomes, and subject characteristics. The VSD database contains data compiled from surveillance on more than seven million people in the United States, including about 500,000 children from birth through age six years (2% of the U.S. population in this age group). The VSD data-sharing program is now being administered by the National Center for Health Statistics Research Data Center. Video Single Disc (VSD) is a disc-based format that carried the same analog video information as a LaserDisc, but on a 12-centimetre (4.75 inch) diameter CD-DA-sized disc. It was spearheaded by Sony and was released in Japan in 1990. It was a new variety of laserdisc and variation on the CD Video (CD-V) format, except that VSD disc carried only a video track (of up to 5 minutes' duration), and its associated audio, with no CD-compatible partition. The disc is the same size as a standard CD and holds five minutes of video with digital sound. It did not have any additional audio tracks like CD-V. Voluntary Service Detachment
The Voluntary Service Detachments were offshoots of the Australian Red Cross Society's South Australian and Western Australian divisions formed shortly before the outbreak of World War II. Their aim was to train and co-ordinate women volunteers as first aiders and civil defence personnel.
