Volharding Olympia Combinatie (VOC) is a cricket and association football club from Rotterdam, Netherlands. Its home ground is Sportpark Hazelaarweg in Hillegersberg-Schiebroek. History VOC was formed on 1 January 1904 as a merger of RC & VV Volharding (1 January 1895) and RV & CV Olympia (23 May 1885). The foundation date of Volharding is maintained as the official establishment date. In 1905 and 1907 VOC football won the national cup. The male first squad football promoted in 2019 to the Hoofdklasse, after winning a championship in the Eerste Klasse. Geert Den Ouden
Gijsbertus Cornelis "Geert" den Ouden (born 24 July 1976) is a Dutch former professional footballer who played as a striker. While at Djurgårdens IF, he became the first-ever Dutchman to play in Allsvenskan and helped the team win the 2003 Allsvenskan and 2004 Svenska Cupen titles. Career Early career Den Ouden has extensive experience playing in his native Netherlands, having made over 150 appearances for clubs such as SBV Excelsior and RBC Roosendaal since turning professional in 1998. Cricket is a bat-and-ball game played between two teams of eleven players on a field at the centre of which is a pitch with a wicket at each end, each comprising two bails balanced on three stumps. The batting side scores runs by striking the ball bowled at one of the wickets with the bat and then running between the wickets, while the bowling and fielding side tries to prevent this (by preventing the ball from leaving the field, and getting the ball to either wicket) and dismiss each batter (so they are "out"). Thomas Verhaar (born 8 March 1988) is a Dutch former professional footballer who played as a winger. Career Verhaar played in the youth academy of Sparta Rotterdam and Willem II, before ending up at amateur club VOC. He played for the club for four years and made his senior debut there. During this period, he was also on a three-month loan with American club Houston Dutch Lions. In the summer of 2014, he was signed by Sparta Rotterdam, at that time playing in the second-tier Eerste Divisie. He made his debut on 10 August 2014 in a 2–1 home win over Den Bosch. Verhaar was in the starting lineup, but was replaced by Giovanni Hiwat during the match. During his second game he scored his first goal; away against Achilles '29 he made another start and secured the 1–3 final score in injury time.
