Video Collection International
2 Entertain (stylized as 2 , entertain) is a British video and music publisher founded in September 2004 by the merger of BBC Video and Video Collection International in 2004. Under CEO Richard Green, the company operated as a joint venture between BBC Worldwide and the Woolworths Group until BBC bought out Woolworths' share following the latter's administration in 2008. History BBC Video BBC Video was established in 1980 as a division of BBC Enterprises (later BBC Worldwide) with John Ross Barnard at the head, just as home video systems were starting to gain ground. At launch, the BBC had no agreement with British talent unions such as Equity or the Musician's Union (MU), so BBC Video was limited in the television programming it could release. Initially, video cassette and laser-disc releases were either programmes with no Equity or MU involvement, such as natural history and other documentaries, or material licensed from third parties, including feature films such as '' H ...

Volatile Corrosion Inhibitor
A volatile corrosion inhibitor (VCI) is a material that protects metals from corrosion. V.VCI is also called Vacuum VCI meaning they have special properties of performance in vacuum as well as corrosion protection properties. Corrosion inhibitors are chemical compounds that can decrease the corrosion rate of a material, typically a metal or an alloy. NACE International Standard TM0208 defines volatile corrosion inhibitor (VCI) as a chemical substance that acts to reduce corrosion by a combination of volatilization from a VCI material, vapor transport in the atmosphere of an enclosed environment, and condensation onto surface in the space, including absorption, dissolution, and hydrophobic effects on metal surfaces, where the rate of corrosion of metal surfaces is thereby inhibited. They also called vapor-phase inhibitors, vapor-phase corrosion inhibitors, and vapor-transported corrosion inhibitors. VCIs come in various formulations that are dependent on the type of system they wil ...

Volunteer Centres Ireland
Volunteer Ireland is an Irish national volunteer development organisation, which supports a network of local Volunteer Centres and Volunteering Information Services in Ireland. History Volunteer Ireland began as two organisations, Volunteer Centres Ireland and Volunteering Ireland, which were merged in 2011. In 2000 some of the older volunteer centres, including what is now the South Dublin County Volunteer Centre, the Volunteer Centre Fingal and Volunteering Ireland, came together to discuss common issues and goals. In 2001, it was decided to formalise this grouping and Volunteer Centres Ireland (VCI) was formed. VCI adopted a constitution, membership criteria and agreed aims and objectives. The VCI lobbied government to support a national infrastructure of volunteer centres, as part of the recommendations in ''Tipping the Balance'' (2002). In January 2005, the Joint Oireachtas Committee on Volunteering published its report, ''Volunteers and Volunteering in Ireland'', in which ...

Valencia Colleges (Bukidnon) Inc
Valencia Colleges (Bukidnon), Incorporated (VCI), is a private non-sectarian institution of higher learning located at Hagkol, Valencia City, Bukidnon, Philippines. Established in 1989, it is a non-stock corporation. It offers preschool, grade school, junior high school, senior high school, college, and graduate school. History The idea of establishing a private non-sectarian college in the City of Valencia (then a municipality) was hatched in the late 1980s. A group of Ph.D. students of Mindanao Polytechnic State College in Cagayan de Oro, inspired by their professor, Atty. Isaias P. Giduquio, former civil service regional director of Region X (formerly Don Mariano Marcos Polytechnic State College, Cagayan de Oro), formed a non-stock corporation aimed at organizing a school of higher education. This core group of planners included Giduquio, Alexander B. Amador, Irene B. Antonio, Reynaldo B. Antonio, Quipte Consus, Mario Basalo, and Pablito Intong. Valencia was, at the time, a ...

Virtual Channel Identifier
Asynchronous Transfer Mode (ATM) is a telecommunications standard defined by American National Standards Institute (ANSI) and ITU-T (formerly CCITT) for digital transmission of multiple types of traffic. ATM was developed to meet the needs of the Broadband Integrated Services Digital Network as defined in the late 1980s, and designed to integrate telecommunication networks. It can handle both traditional high-throughput data traffic and real-time, low-latency content such as telephony (voice) and video.ATM Forum, The User Network Interface (UNI), v. 3.1, , Prentice Hall PTR, 1995, page 2. ATM provides functionality that uses features of circuit switching and packet switching networks by using asynchronous time-division multiplexing.McDysan (1999), p. 287. In the OSI reference model data link layer (layer 2), the basic transfer units are called '' frames''. In ATM these frames are of a fixed length (53 octets) called ''cells''. This differs from approaches such as Internet Proto ...

VideoCipher I
VideoCipher is a brand name of analog scrambling and de-scrambling equipment for cable and satellite television invented primarily to enforce Television receive-only (TVRO) satellite equipment to only receive TV programming on a subscription basis. The second version of Videocipher, Videocipher II, was the primary encryption scheme used by major cable TV programmers to prevent TVRO owners from receiving free terrestrial television programming. It was especially notable due to the widespread compromise of its encryption scheme. Background Satellite providers Though the first half of the 1980s, HBO, Cinemax and other premium television providers with analog satellite transponders faced a fast growing market of TVRO equipment owners. Satellite television consumers could watch these services simply by pointing their dish at a satellite, and tuning into the provider's transponder. Two open questions existed about this practice: whether the Communications Act of 1934 applied as a ...

Electronic Control Unit
An electronic control unit (ECU), also known as an electronic control module (ECM), is an embedded system in automotive electronics that controls one or more of the electrical systems or subsystems in a car or other motor vehicle. Modern vehicles have many ECUs, and these can include some or all of the following: engine control module (ECM), powertrain control module (PCM), transmission control module (TCM), brake control module (BCM or EBCM), central control module (CCM), central timing module (CTM), general electronic module (GEM), body control module (BCM), and suspension control module (SCM). These ECUs together are sometimes referred to collectively as the car's computer though technically they are all separate computers, not a single one. Sometimes an assembly incorporates several individual control modules (a PCM often controls both the engine and the transmission).

AMX-VCI
The AMX-VCI (french: VĂ©hicule de Combat d'Infanterie) is one of the many variants of the French AMX-13 light tank. It was the front line APC of the French Army until replaced by the AMX-10P. It is still used by some countries, for example Mexico, where it goes under the name of DNC-1 and is armed with a 20mm cannon. History Beginning in 1957, some 3,000 vehicles were produced. It was initially produced as the AMX-13 VTT (), which carried ten infantrymen and was armed with either an AA-52 7.62 mm machine gun or a 12.7 mm M2 Browning machine gun in an open mounting. The final versions had a turret equipped with a 20mm light autocannon, producing a vehicle that can be seen as an early example of the infantry fighting vehicle. Variants The AMX-13 VCI itself was the basis for a number of variants: *AMX-VTP: Original APC variant armed with an open-mount light machine-gun *AMX-VTT (AMX-VCI): APC fitted with a turret mounted light machine-gun *AMX-LT: VTT based artillery fire ...
