Uzhavan
''Uzhavan'' () is a 1993 Indian Tamil-language drama film written and directed by Kathir. The film stars Prabhu and Bhanupriya, with Rambha in a cameo role (in her Tamil debut). A. R. Rahman composed the music. The film was released on 13 November 1993, Diwali day. Plot The story depicts the life of a young farmer who has lived life to his fullest and made others live it too. He faces the facts: he is fat and obnoxiously so. They know him as the fat one; that many a pink girl in half-saris laugh at and would not even dream of having to live with as a wife. His mother, an old and dying woman, wishes to see her son happily wedded before she breathes her last. Finally, things seem to be falling into place, with a beautiful country girl that agrees to marriage but later, tells him of her love for another man. Vignesh (actor)
Raja (born 9 April 1971), known professionally as Vignesh, is an Indian actor who predominantly works in Tamil cinema. Career Vignesh got selected to play the lead role in Balu Mahendra's ''Vanna Vanna Pookkal'' (1992) but he was removed from the film after working on it for seven days and was replaced by Prashanth. He made his acting debut in 1992 with the village drama film '' Chinna Thayee''. In 1993, he acted in '' Amma Ponnu'', Bharathiraja's ''Kizhakku Cheemayile'' and Kathir's ''Uzhavan''. In 1995, Vignesh appeared in six films. He starred in ''Chellakannu'', which told the tragic story of a young couple caught between feuding families, and the film performed well and ran for over one hundred days at the box office. Kathir is an Indian film director, producer, and screenwriter who works predominantly in Tamil cinema. Early life Kathir was born in kalkarai, a small village in the Radhapuram Taluk of Tirunelveli District, state of Tamil Nadu, India. Kathir grew up in a middle-class family as the only son along with his three sisters. His father Subhash was a farmer and mother Isakiammal assisted him in his farming. Kathir had his elementary schooling in kalkarai elementary school. He finished his 5th standard there and joined St. Teresa's school in Vadakangulam. He completed his school studies here. Tiruchirapalli Srinivasan Rangarajan, professionally credited by his pseudonym Vaali (born 29 October 1931 – 18 July 2013) was an Indian poet who is the highest songs wrote lyricist in cinema and whose works were in Tamil, had a five-decade long association with the Tamil film industry, wrote over 15,000 songs. Bhanupriya (born Mangabhanu; 15 January 1967) is an Indian actress, Kuchipudi dancer, and voice artist. Sujatha (10 December 1952 – 6 April 2011) was an Indian actress who performed and staggered in a number of unique and variety of characters in Tamil, Malayalam and Telugu films- in addition to few in Kannada and Hindi languages as well. The actress was best known for restraint and subtlety in portrayal of varied emotions. After starring in numerous Malayalam films in her mother-tongue, Sujatha later got introduced to the Tamil film industry by veteran director K. Balachander and producer P.R. Govindarajan as a protagonist in her first Tamil film, ''Aval Oru Thodar Kathai'' (1974). It was a critically acclaimed film and launched the actress's first commecrical breakthrough in her acting career.
