Shahjahan Chowdhury (film Director)
Shahjahan Chowdhury is a Bangladeshi film director and scriptwriter. As of 2011, he has made five films – ''Pinjar'' (1975), ''Shatru'' (1985), ''Uttarer Khep'' (2004) and ''Ek Khanda Jami'' (2004) and ''Madhumati'' (2011). Career Before 1971, Chowdhury worked for the newspaper ''Khobor''. Chowdhury debuted in film making through ''Pinjar'' (1975). He was co-director with the Pakistani filmmaker Suroor Barabankvi for the film ''Akhri Station''. Shawkat Ali (novelist)
Shawkat Ali (12 February 1936 – 25 January 2018) was a Bangladeshi writer. He was awarded Bangla Academy Literary Award in 1968 and Ekushey Padak in 1990 by the Government of Bangladesh. Early life and education Ali was born in Raiganj in West Dinajpur district in British India. He passed his IA from Surendranath College in 1951 and BA in 1955. He completed his MA in Bengali literature from the University of Dhaka in 1958. Career Ali started writing articles in newspapers in 1955. He started his career at the news desk of ''Dainik Millat'' in the same year. He worked in Thakurgaon as a schoolteacher for six months. He taught Bengali at Jagannath College in Dhaka between 1962 and 1987. He joined the Dhaka head office of District Gazetteer as an assistant director and later became its director. Gulshan Ara Akter Champa (born 5 January 1965) is a Bangladeshi film and television actress. She won Bangladesh National Film Award for Best Actress three times for the films Padma Nadir Majhi (1993), Anya Jibon (1995) and Uttarer Khep (2000), and the Best Supporting Actress award for Shasti (2005) and Chandragrohon (2008). Sheikh Sadi Khan (born 1950) is a Bangladeshi composer and music director. He won Bangladesh National Film Award for Best Music Director for the film '' Ghani'' (2006) and Best Music Composer for ''Bhalobaslei Ghor Bandha Jay Na'' (2010). Shawkat Ali
Shawkat Ali (April 20, 1918 – August 18, 1975) was a politician and a leader of the Bengali Language Movement. He was one of the founders of Awami Muslim League - which later became Awami League and is now the Bangladesh Awami League. He was a member of all three Rastrabhasa Sangram Parishad. He was also the Chief Organizer of Dhaka City Awami League during the 1950s. His house in 150, Chawk Moghultuly, Dhaka was the center for many activities and meetings during the Language Movement. He died of a stroke on August 18, 1975. He is buried in Jurain graveyard in Dhaka.
