Sanskrit
Sanskrit (; stem form ; nominal singular , ,) is a classical language belonging to the Indo-Aryan languages, Indo-Aryan branch of the Indo-European languages. It arose in northwest South Asia after its predecessor languages had Trans-cultural diffusion, diffused there from the northwest in the late Bronze Age#South Asia, Bronze Age. Sanskrit is the sacred language of Hinduism, the language of classical Hindu philosophy, and of historical texts of Buddhism and Jainism. Uttarayana
The term Uttarāyaṇa (commonly Uttarayanam) is derived from two different Sanskrit words – "uttaram" (North) and "ayanam" (movement) – thus indicating the northward movement of the Sun. In the Gregorian calendar, this pertains to the "actual movement of the sun with respect to the earth." Also known as the six month period that occurs between the winter solstice and summer solstice (approximately 20 December - 20 June). According to the Indian solar calendar, it refers to the movement of the Sun through the zodiac. This difference is because the solstices continually precess at a rate of 50 arcseconds per year due to the precession of the equinoxes, i.e. this difference is the difference between the sidereal and tropical zodiacs. The Surya Siddhanta bridges this difference by juxtaposing the four solstitial and equinoctial points with four of the twelve boundaries of the rashis. Uttarā (Mahabharata)
Uttarā () was the princess of Matsya, as described in the Hindu epic ''Mahabharata''. She was the daughter of King Virata and Queen Sudeshna, at whose court the Pandavas spent a year in concealment during their exile. During this period, she learned music and dance from Arjuna, the third Pandava, and later married his son, Abhimanyu. Uttarā was widowed at a young age during the Kurukshetra War. Following the Pandavas' victory in the war, she and her unborn son were attacked by Ashwatthama, and were saved by the divine intervention of Krishna. Her son Parikshit saved the Kuru lineage from extinction, and became a well-known monarch celebrated in both the ''Mahabharata'' and the ''Bhagavata Purana''. Uttara (), also rendered Uttara Kumara () is a prince of the Matsya Kingdom featured in the Hindu epic Mahabharata. He is the eldest son of King Virata and his wife Sudeshna, at whose court the Pandavas spend their one year of anonymity during their exile. His sister Uttarā marries Abhimanyu, the son of Arjuna. Legend Mahabharata Uttara is the son of Virata in Mahabharata. Towards the end of the year that the Pandavas spent at the Matsya Kingdom, Duryodhana, suspecting that the Pandavas were hiding in Matsya kingdom, launched an attack. Uttara Baokar (5 August 1944 – 12 April 2023) was an Indian stage, film, and television actress. She acted in several notable plays, such as Padmavati in ''Mukyhamantri'', Mena in ''Mena Gurjari'', Desdemona in Shakespeare's ''Othello'', the mother in playwright Girish Karnad's ''Tughlaq'', the nautch girl in ''Chhote Saiyad Bade Saiyad,'' and the lead role of Umrao in ''Umrao Jaan''. Uttara Depot
Diabari Depot (), officially Uttara Depot (), is a railway depot of the Dhaka Metro Rail's MRT Line 6, located before Uttara North station in northern Dhaka. It is the first depot on the metro lines of Dhaka, having been built in 2022, when the MRT Line 6 was under construction. History On 27 March 2016, Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited (DMTCL) signed an agreement with Tokyu Construction Ltd for the development of a depot of the MRT Line 6. The depot is planned to be built on 59 acres of land in the third phase of the Uttara Satellite Town project. As the 30 acres of the depot area is soft, the 8 adjacent buildings were at risk from the tremors generated during construction of the depot structure using sand conception piling, which the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) promised to compensate if damaged.
