Unrockbar
"Unrockbar" is a punk song by German band Die Ärzte. It's the first track on CD2 and the first single from their 2003 album ''Geräusch''. The title is a self-derived German word which can be translated as "unrockable", "unable to rock", or "unable to be rocked". The lyrics tell the story of a man who, to his shock and dismay, realizes that his girlfriend dislikes rock music. References are made to Ricky Martin, Shakira as "unrockbar" and Beatsteaks as "rockbar" (in the song nothing is actually dubbed "rockbar" and "unrockbar", but are mentioned in corresponding contexts). Music video The music video was released on the " Dinge von denen" CD single as well as the ''Overkiller'' DVD. The video uses the album version (longer) of the song. There is also a split screen version of the video showing the storyboard, released on the Overkiller DVD and for free on the official website. The package is designed, using upside-down techniques, to make it difficult to decide which of the covers is the front. "Dinge von denen" (Things of which) is a song by German rock Die Ärzte. It is the fifth track on the first CD and the second single from their 2003 album ''Geräusch''. It is about the singers dislike for hearing about other peoples ailments such as gross details that result from a medical condition, or complaints they have with other people. Music video The music video is a parody of German 1970s music shows similar to ''Top of the Pops''. It is in black-and-white and was shot on a reconstructed set of the German game show ''Dalli, Dalli'' (''Hurry, hurry''). In reference to ''Dalli, Dalli'' host Hans Rosenthal the host in the music video uses Rosenthal's catchphrase at the end: "So, wir sind der Meinung, das war spitze" (''Well, in our opinion it was great''), Like Rosental the host then jumps into the air and the picture freezes. Beatsteaks
The Beatsteaks are a German rock band from Berlin, formed in 1995. History Peter Baumann, Stefan Hircher, Alexander Rosswaag and Bernd Kurtzke founded Beatsteaks in 1995. Shortly afterwards, Arnim Teutoburg-Weiß joined the band as singer and additional guitarist. In 1996, the band won a local music competition in ''SO36'' and played as opening act for the Sex Pistols at a concert in Berlin. This was also the band's tenth live performance. In 1997, the band recorded their first album ''48/49'', named after the number of their rehearsal space. It contains several songs in German, while the more recent albums are in English. In 1999 they released their second album, '' Launched'', on the American punk label Epitaph Records. Thomas Götz had joined the band on drums, while on bass, Torsten Scholz replaced Alexander in 2000. Die Ärzte (; ) is a German rock band from Berlin. The band has released 14 studio albums. The group consists of guitarist Farin Urlaub, drummer Bela B and bass player Rodrigo González. All three write and perform their songs. "Komm zurück" is the eleventh and "Die Banane" the seventeenth track on their 2002 live album '' Unplugged: Rock'n'Roll Realschule''. Jan Vetter (born 27 October 1963), better known as Farin Urlaub. (from the German ''Fahr in Urlaub!'', "Go on holiday!"), is a German singer, guitarist and songwriter. He is best known as the guitarist/vocalist for punk rock band Die Ärzte. He has also been a solo artist since 2001, touring with his band, the Farin Urlaub Racing Team. His releases starting in 2006 are credited to the band. Early life Vetter was born on 27 October 1963 in West Berlin.
