Performing live at the Ed Sullivan Theater in New York City on December 17, 1992, their performance was recorded for the ''MTV Unplugged'' television series. Arrested Development (hip Hop Group)
Arrested Development is an American hip hop musical ensemble, group that formed in Atlanta in 1988. It was founded by Speech (rapper), Speech and Headliner (DJ), Headliner as a positive, Afrocentrism, Afrocentric alternative to the gangsta rap popular in the late 1980s. Baba Oje and frontman Speech (rapper), Speech met at the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee when they were both students. Baba Oje was 57 years old at the time. History Arrested Development was formed in 1988 by rapper and producer Todd Thomas ("Speech (rapper), Speech") and turntablism, turntablist Timothy Barnwell (known as Headliner (DJ), Headliner). The group's debut album ''3 Years, 5 Months and 2 Days in the Life Of...'' was the number-one album in the ''Village Voice''s 1992 Pazz and Jop Critic's Poll and in ''The Wire (magazine), The Wire''s 1992 Critic's choice. The Village Voice
''The Village Voice'' is an American news and culture paper, known for being the country's first alternative newsweekly. Founded in 1955 by Dan Wolf, Ed Fancher, John Wilcock, and Norman Mailer, the ''Voice'' began as a platform for the creative community of New York City. It ceased publication in 2017, although its online archives remained accessible. After an ownership change, the ''Voice'' reappeared in print as a quarterly in April 2021. Over its 63 years of publication, ''The Village Voice'' received three Pulitzer Prizes, the National Press Foundation Award, and the George Polk Award.
