The Aberdeen University Conservative and Unionist Association (AUCUA) is a student Conservative association formed in 1881. It is the third oldest Conservative student association in the United Kingdom. It comprises an executive committee that consists of six positions where members are elected annually at the association's AGM. It is directly affiliated to the Scottish Conservative and Unionist Party and the Aberdeen University Students' Association. Aberdeen
Aberdeen (; sco, Aiberdeen ; gd, Obar Dheathain ; la, Aberdonia) is a city in North East Scotland, and is the third most populous city in the country. Nanette Milne
Nanette Lilian Margaret Milne (born 27 April 1942, in Aberdeen) is a former Scottish Conservative Party politician. She served as a Member of the Scottish Parliament (MSP) for North East Scotland from 2003 to 2016. Early life and education Milne was born on 27 April 1942. Her parents were Hannah L. C. Gordon (''née'' Stephen) and Harold G. Gordon. She was brought up in Aberdeen’s Woodside. She attended the Aberdeen High School for Girls, going on to study medicine at the University of Aberdeen graduating with an MBChB in 1965. Career She married Alan Milne in 1965, and together they had two children. In the 1970s she took a break from her profession to raise her children. Paul Richard William Wheelhouse (born 22 June 1970) is a former Scottish National Party (SNP) politician who served as Minister for Energy, Connectivity and the Islands from 2018 to 2021. Aberdeen South is a burgh constituency of the House of Commons of the Parliament of the United Kingdom and it elects one Member of Parliament (MP) by the first-past-the-post system of election. Ross Thomson (born 21 September 1987) is a former Scottish Conservative Party politician who was the Member of Parliament (MP) for Aberdeen South from June 2017 to November 2019. Andrew Campbell Bowie (born 28 May 1987) is a Scottish Conservative Party politician. He has been the Member of Parliament (MP) for West Aberdeenshire and Kincardine since the 2017 general election. The Adam Smith Institute (ASI) is a neoliberal UK-based think tank and lobbying group, named after Adam Smith, a Scottish moral philosopher and classical economist. The libertarian label was officially changed to neoliberal on 10 October 2016. Reform Scotland is a Scottish think tank based in Edinburgh. Established in 2008, Reform Scotland is the successor to think tank Policy Institute (1999–2008). Reform Scotland is a company limited by guarantee (No SC336414) and a Scottish charity (No SC039624) funded by individuals, charitable trusts, companies and organisations that share its aims. Reform Scotland made a submission to the Scotland Bill Committee, based upon their pamphlet advocating Devolution Plus. South Of Scotland (Scottish Parliament Electoral Region)
South of Scotland was one of the eight electoral regions of the Scottish Parliament when it was created in 1999. The region was replaced with South Scotland in 2011 following a review. Nine of the parliament's 73 first past the post constituencies were sub-divisions of the region and it elected seven of the 56 additional-member Members of the Scottish Parliament (MSPs).
