Universal Credit Rating Group
Universal Credit Rating Group (UCRG) () is a credit ratings agency based in Hong Kong. Plans to create UCRG were announced in October 2012, and it was officially founded in Hong Kong in June 2013, as a partnership between Dagong Global Credit, Egan-Jones Ratings, and RusRating. In 2014, it described itself as the only international credit rating agency based in the Asia Pacific area. Advisory Council On 23June 2014, UCRG announced its 2015-20 operating plan along with the formation of an advisory council to the group chaired by former French Prime Minister Dominique de Villepin. Phoenix Television is a majority state-owned television network that offers Mandarin and Cantonese-language channels that serve mainland China, Hong Kong, Macau and other markets with substantial Chinese-language viewers. Dagong Global Credit Rating () is a state-owned credit rating agency based in China. History The company was established in 1994, following approval by the People's Bank of China and the State Economic and Trade Division of the People's Republic of China. In May 2009, an agreement of mutual cooperation was signed with Xinhua News Agency, reported as "promoting a national credit rating system". The company stated that it has used "dialectical materialism" as part of its evaluative approach. In June 2013, Dagong Europe Credit Rating was registered and received authorisation from the European Securities and Markets Authority as Credit Rating Agency. Egan-Jones Ratings Company is a nationally recognized statistical rating organization (NRSRO) that was founded in 1995 to provide "timely, accurate credit ratings." In 2013 ''Kommersant'' said it was the smallest in the country, with about 30 customers, about 4 percent of the market.
