Unity High School, also known as Mendon Unity, or UHS, is a public four-year high school located at 453 West Collins Street in Mendon, Illinois, a village in Adams County, Illinois, in the Midwestern United States. UHS serves the communities of Mendon, Fowler, Lima, Loraine, Marcelline, Meyer, and Ursa. The campus is located 15 miles northeast of Quincy, Illinois, and serves a mixed village and rural residential community. History Unity High School was formed in 1948 by the consolidation of four high schools: Lima High School, Ursa High School, Mendon High School and Loraine High School. Athletics Unity High School competes in the West Central Conference and is a member school in the Illinois High School Association. The UHS mascot is the Mustang, with school colors of maroon, white, and Columbia blue. Mendon is a village in Adams County, Illinois, United States. The population was 872 at the 2020 census. It is part of the Quincy, IL– MO Micropolitan Statistical Area. The village is named after Mendon, Massachusetts. History Mendon was platted in 1833 under the name of Fairfield. However, there was another Fairfield in Illinois, so the village name was changed to Mendon. Geography Mendon is located at (40.088241, -91.284458). According to the 2021 census gazetteer files, Mendon has a total area of , all land. The community is in northwest Adams County on Illinois Route 61. Illinois Route 336 passes approximately one-half mile to the east. Quincy is eleven miles to the south-southwest. Meyer is an unincorporated community in Adams County, Illinois, United States. It has a population of approximately 10 full-time residents as of mid-2009, due to the flood of 2008. The community is part of the Quincy, IL–MO Micropolitan Statistical Area. It is the westernmost community in Illinois. Meyer sits in a fertile flood plain along the east bank of the Mississippi River in northwestern Adams County. The river plays a significant role in the area's local economy. Lima is a village in Adams County, Illinois, United States. It is part of the Quincy, IL– MO Micropolitan Statistical Area. As of the 2020 census, the population was 148.
