''United Talent'' is the sixth collaborative studio album by Conway Twitty and Loretta Lynn. It was released on June 7, 1976, by MCA Records. Critical reception The June 19, 1976 issue of ''Billboard'' carried a review which called the album "Another set of solid country songs from this favorite twosome, includes their latest single, "The Letter". Owen Bradley produces with his usual flair and a preference for unadulterated arrangements. Lynn and Twitty always seem to bring out the best in each other — and the cross-fertilization of talent sounds best on numbers such as "Just Lead the Way". It's doubtful if the Bellamy Brothers' hit "Let Your Love Flow" will ever sound more country than it does at the hands of Loretta and Conway. Lynn and Twitty make no concessions here for any pop audience — it's country to the core as typified by Wayne Kemp's "Barroom Habits" and Vic McAlpin's "I'm Gonna Roll You Like a Wheel". Conway Twitty
Harold Lloyd Jenkins (September 1, 1933 – June 5, 1993), better known by his stage name Conway Twitty, was an American singer and songwriter. Initially a part of the 1950s rockabilly scene, Twitty was best known as a country music performer. From 1971 to 1976, Twitty received a string of Country Music Association awards for duets with Loretta Lynn. He was inducted into both the Country Music and Rockabilly Halls of Fame. Twitty was known for his frequent use of romantic and sentimental themes in his songs. Due to his following being compared to a religious revival, comedian Jerry Clower nicknamed Twitty "The High Priest of Country Music", the eventual title of his 33rd studio album. Bobby Bare
Robert Joseph Bare Sr. (born April 7, 1935) is an American country music singer and songwriter, best known for the songs "Marie Laveau", " Detroit City" and "500 Miles Away from Home". He is the father of Bobby Bare Jr., also a musician. Early career In the 1950s, Bare repeatedly tried and failed to sell his songs. He finally got a record deal, with Capitol Records, and recorded a few unsuccessful rock and roll singles. Just before he was drafted into the United States Army, he wrote a song called " The All American Boy" and did a demo for his friend, Bill Parsons, to learn how to record. Instead of using Parsons' later version, the record company, Fraternity Records, decided to go with Bare's original demo. Critical reception In the July 21, 1973 issue, ''Billboard'' published a review of the album, which said that "Each time they sing together, they make even better music. Good close harmony throughout. Once again, an excellent selection of songs, under the guiding hand of the old master, Owen Bradley, plus his superb production. This team just mixes well, and fans of both will be pleased with the results." The review noted "For Heaven's Sake", "Easy on My Mind", "As Good as a Lonely Girl Can Be", and "What Are We Gonna Do About Us" as the best cuts on the album. The publication was founded by Walt Grealis in February 1964, supported through its existence by record label owner Stan Klees. ''RPM'' ceased publication in November 2000.
