''Louisiana Woman, Mississippi Man'' is the third collaborative studio album by Conway Twitty and Loretta Lynn. It was released on July 9, 1973, by MCA Records. Critical reception In the July 21, 1973 issue, ''Billboard'' published a review of the album, which said that "Each time they sing together, they make even better music. Good close harmony throughout. Once again, an excellent selection of songs, under the guiding hand of the old master, Owen Bradley, plus his superb production. This team just mixes well, and fans of both will be pleased with the results." The review noted "For Heaven's Sake", "Easy on My Mind", "As Good as a Lonely Girl Can Be", and "What Are We Gonna Do About Us" as the best cuts on the album. It also included a note to dealers, saying that "Despite an unflattering picture of Miss Lynn on the cover, their total fans are legion, and this could outsell all the others." Harold Lloyd Jenkins (September 1, 1933 – June 5, 1993), better known by his stage name Conway Twitty, was an American singer and songwriter. Initially a part of the 1950s rockabilly scene, Twitty was best known as a country music performer. From 1971 to 1976, Twitty received a string of Country Music Association awards for duets with Loretta Lynn. He was inducted into both the Country Music and Rockabilly Halls of Fame. Twitty was known for his frequent use of romantic and sentimental themes in his songs. The publication was founded by Walt Grealis in February 1964, supported through its existence by record label owner Stan Klees. ''RPM'' ceased publication in November 2000. Norris Denton "Norro" Wilson (April 4, 1938 – June 8, 2017) was an American country music singer-songwriter, producer, and member of the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame. Joe Stampley (born June 6, 1943) is an American country music singer. He had success as the lead singer of a rock group, in a country duo with Moe Bandy and as a solo performer. Stampley has released over 20 albums and more than 60 singles in a career that spans seven decades. In 2000, he formed Critter Records. Biography He was born in Springhill, Louisiana, United States, to R. C. Stampley, Jr. (1920–2000) and Mary E. Stampley (1924–2004). Stampley befriended Merle Kilgore when he was aged 15 and they started writing songs together. Kilgore arranged for Stampley to record two sides with Imperial Records, and the resulting single, "Glenda" (1959), sold well locally but not elsewhere.
