David Dale Reimer
David Dale Reimer is an American diplomat and member of the Senior Foreign Service. He has served as the List of ambassadors of the United States to Sierra Leone, United States ambassador to Sierra Leone since 2021. He previously served concurrently as the United States Ambassador to Mauritius, United States ambassador to Mauritius and United States Ambassador to Seychelles, United States ambassador to Seychelles from 2018 to 2021. Education Reimer is a native of Smithville, Ohio. He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in history from Goshen College and his Master of International Affairs, Master of Public and International Affairs from the University of Pittsburgh. Career Reimer has served as a diplomat since 1991. In 2015, he became the director of the Office of West African Affairs in the Bureau of African Affairs at the United States Department of State. John Lasarus Williams (29 October 1924 – 15 June 2004), known as John L, was a Welsh nationalist activist. Williams was born in Llangoed on Anglesey, but lived most of his life in nearby Llanfairpwllgwyngyll. In his youth, he was a keen footballer, and he also worked as a teacher. His activism started when he campaigned against the refusal of Brewer Spinks, an employer in Blaenau Ffestiniog, to permit his staff to speak Welsh. Ambassadors Of The United States
Ambassadors of the United States are persons nominated by the president to serve as the country's diplomatic representatives to foreign nations, international organizations, and as ambassadors-at-large. Under Article II, Section 2 of the U.S. Constitution, their appointment must be confirmed by the United States Senate; while an ambassador may be appointed during a recess, they can serve only until the end of the next session of Congress, unless subsequently confirmed. Ambassadors are the highest-ranking diplomats of the U.S. and are usually based in the embassy in the host country. They are under the jurisdiction of the Department of State and answer directly to the secretary of state; however, ambassadors serve " at the pleasure of the President", meaning they can be dismissed at any time. Sierra Leone maintains formal relations with many Western nations. It also maintains diplomatic relations with the former Soviet Bloc countries as well as with the People's Republic of China. The government maintains 16 embassies and high commissions around the world. Maria Elena Brewer is an American diplomat who has served as the United States Ambassador to Lesotho since March 2022. She previously served as the United States Ambassador to Sierra Leone from 2017 to 2021. Early life and education Brewer grew up in Northwest Indiana. June Carter Perry
June Carter Perry (born November 13, 1943 in Texarkana, Arkansas) is a member of the American Academy of Diplomacy and a retired American Ambassador (Sierra Leone from August 27, 2007, to August 28, 2009, and Lesotho from 2004 to 2007. In 2016, she was inducted into the Arkansas Hall of Fame. Perry is a graduate of Loyola University in Chicago (B.A., history, 1965) and the University of Chicago (M.A. European History, 1967). In 2011, Loyola presented her with its alumni Coffey Award for her work in diplomacy and humanitarian affairs.
