UAE Pro League
The UAE Pro League ( ar, دوري المحترفين الإماراتي), known for sponsorship reasons as the ADNOC Pro League, is the top professional football league in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). The first team to win the title was Al Orouba (Sharjah), whilst Al Ain has the record with 14 league titles to their name. Fourteen clubs compete in the League that operates on a system of promotion and relegation with the First Division League. The League was founded in 1973 as the UAE Football League. The first 1973–74 season was a "trial" championship but was declared official by the UAE FA in 2001. In February 2007, the Pro League Committee was formed, and became the organising body of the League. Dubai CSC
Dubai Cultural Sports Club () was a football (soccer), football club based in Dubai in the United Arab Emirates. In 2017 merged with Al Shabab (Dubai), Al Shabab to join Al-Ahli to rebrand the club into Shabab Al-Ahli Dubai FC. The GCC Champions League ( ar, دوري أبطال الخليج للأندية), is an annually organized football league tournament for club of the Arabian peninsula. The 2014 edition is the 29th edition and is officially known as the Pharmaton 29th GCC Club Cup Championship due to sponsorship reasons. The competition kicked off on 3 February 2014 making it change to being played in one calendar year which was the usual format until changed for the last edition. Groups Four groups of three teams. Al-Nasr CSC ( ar, نادي النصر الرياضي) is an Emirati professional football club based in Al Nasr, Dubai and competes in the UAE Pro League. Al-Nasr, literally translating to "victory" in Arabic, was founded in 1945 and is considered as the first and oldest club in the United Arab Emirates. History Pre–UAE League era (1945–1973) Al Nasr Sports Club was founded by a group of young men in a Al Ghubaiba, Dubai in 1945, making it the oldest club in UAE footballing history. The team played in an empty playground near a highschool for three years until in 1948 were they finally decided to establish modern rules of football. The GCC Champions League ( ar, دوري أبطال الخليج للأندية), formerly known as the Gulf Cup for Clubs ( ar, كأس الخليج للأندية), was an annually organized football league tournament for clubs of the Arabian peninsula. The tournament was first organized in 1982 and was last played in 2015, the 31st edition. Attempts to play the 2016 and 2017 editions failed. It was organised by the Gulf Cooperation Council and open to clubs from Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates Although having much popularity in its initial first decades, the tournament faced decline as the Asian Champions League and AFC Cup forced many Gulf clubs to be unable to participate in the competition. Al Dhafra Club
Al Dhafra FC () is a professional football club based in Madinat Zayed, United Arab Emirates. As of the 2020–21 season they play in the UAE Arabian Gulf League. Their futsal club participated in AFC Futsal Club Championship. History Al Dhafra FC was established in 2000, as part of a policy to promote sports across the country and the Al Dhafra region of Abu Dhabi had no team, so Al Dhafra is the first and only club to be located in the western region. For most of its history the club was classified as a semi-professional club according to the UAE Pro League committee and did not have licenses to compete in the AFC competitions but the team had continued to appeal for a license since qualifying for the UAE President's Cup for the first time in 2019.
