Unidos
''Unidos'' (translation from Sardinian: "United") is a centre-right separatist political party in Sardinia. History The party was launched by Mauro Pili, a long-time member of centre-right parties like Forza Italia (FI) and The People of Freedom (PdL) and a former President of Sardinia (1999, 2001–2003), in November 2011. Originally a faction within the PdL, Unidos soon became a party upon Pili's exit from that party in October 2013. As Pili had been elected to the Chamber of Deputies in the 2013 general election, Unidos was represented in Parliament until 2018. In the 2014 regional election Pili ran for president and won 5.7% of the vote, while the party and a list named after the leader obtained 2.8% and 1.7% of the vote, respectively, both with no seats in the Regional Council. In the 2019 regional election Pili stood again as a candidate for president, this time at the head of a joint list formed by Unidos, Project Republic of Sardinia Project Republic of Sardinia ( ...

Project Republic Of Sardinia
Project Republic of Sardinia ( sc, Progetu Repùblica de Sardigna, ProgReS) is a separatist political party in Sardinia, founded in January 2011 following a split from Independence Republic of Sardinia (iRS). The party's current secretary is Luigi Todde, while Adriano Sollai serve as its presidents. History In January 2011, after a struggle with Gavino Sale, president of iRS, the faction led by former leader Ornella Demuru, including iRS founding members Frantziscu Sanna and Franciscu Sedda, decided to leave the party and launch a "Republican Constituent Assembly" (''Sa Costituente Repubricana''). In February the new party took the name of Project Republic of Sardinia (ProgReS) and Bobore Bussa was elected as provisional leader. The party made its first electoral appearance in May 2011 at the municipal elections in Cagliari and Olbia by filing candidates for mayor (Demuru in Cagliari and Gianmaria Bellu in Olbia) and for the city councils. In both cases ProgReS mayoral ...

List Of Political Parties In Sardinia
Several political parties operate in Sardinia. No party has ever had the chance of gaining power alone and thus parties must work with each other to form coalition governments. The political parties are currently organized mainly in two political coalitions at the regional level: once centred on the Sardinian Action Party and Lega Sardegna, the other around Democratic Party. Because of their ideological and political factionalism, the Sardinian nationalist parties have played a marginal role in the electoral scene. Parties Major parties More than 10% in the 2019 regional election (or at least 10 regional councillors): *Democratic Party (''Partito Democratico'') * League Sardegna (''Lega Sardegna'') Medium parties Between 4% and 15% in the 2014 regional election (or at least 5 regional councillors): *Sardinian Action Party (''Partidu Sardu - Partito Sardo d'Azione'') * Forward Italy (''Forza Italia'') *Five Star Movement (''Movimento Cinque Stelle'') *Sardinian Reformers (''Ri ...

2014 Sardinian Regional Election
The Sardinian regional election of 2014 took place on 16 February 2014. Francesco Pigliaru of the Democratic Party defeated incumbent Ugo Cappellacci of Forza Italia. The combined score of the highly fragmented Sardist parties was 26%. The Five Star Movement did not take part to the election, after Beppe Grillo refused to concede the use of his party's symbol. The notorious novelist Michela Murgia, who received more than the 10% of votes, wasn't elected because of the new high electoral threshold. New electoral system In 2013 Sardinian electoral law was changed once again. While the President of Sardinia and the first leader of the opposition are still elected at-large, 58 councillors, instead of 64 as it was before, are elected by party lists under a form of semi-proportional representation. The winning coalition receives a jackpot of additional seats, which are divided between all majority parties using the D'Hondt method, as it happens between the losing lists. Each ...

Sardinian Nationalism
Sardinian nationalism or also Sardism (''Sardismu'' in Sardinian; ''Sardismo'' in Italian) is a social, cultural and political movement in Sardinia calling for the self-determination of the Sardinian people in a context of national devolution, further autonomy in Italy, or even outright independence from the latter. It also promotes the protection of the island's environment and the preservation of its cultural heritage. Even though the island has been characterized by periodical waves of ethnonationalist protests against Rome,Pala, C. 2015. ''Sardinia''. The Wiley Blackwell Encyclopedia of Race, Ethnicity, and Nationalism. 1–3Abstract/ref> the Sardinian movement has its origins on the left of the political spectrum; regionalism and attempts for Sardinian self-determination historically countered in fact the Rome-centric Italian nationalism and fascism (which eventually managed to contain the autonomist and separatist tendencies). 2013 Italian General Election
The 2013 Italian general election was held on 24 and 25 February 2013 to determine the 630 members of the Chamber of Deputies and the 315 elective members of the Senate of the Republic for the 17th Italian Parliament. The centre-left alliance Italy Common Good, led by the Democratic Party (PD), obtained a clear majority of seats in the Chamber of Deputies thanks to a majority bonus that effectively trebled the number of seats assigned to the winning force and narrowly defeated the centre-right alliance of former Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi in the popular vote. Close behind, the new anti-establishment Five Star Movement of comedian Beppe Grillo became the third force, well ahead of the centrist coalition of outgoing Prime Minister Mario Monti. In the Senate, no political group or party won an outright majority, resulting in a hung parliament. In April 2013, a grand coalition between Italy Common Good, the Berlusconi coalition, and the centrists was formed. Berlusconi and ...

Chamber Of Deputies (Italy)
The Chamber of Deputies ( it, Camera dei deputati) is the lower house of the bicameral Italian Parliament (the other being the Senate of the Republic). The two houses together form a perfect bicameral system, meaning they perform identical functions, but do so separately. The Chamber of Deputies has 400 seats, of which 392 will be elected from Italian constituencies, and 8 from Italian citizens living abroad. Deputies are styled ''The Honourable'' (Italian: ''Onorevole'') and meet at Palazzo Montecitorio. Location The seat of the Chamber of Deputies is the ''Palazzo Montecitorio'', where it has met since 1871, shortly after the capital of the Kingdom of Italy was moved to Rome at the successful conclusion of the Italian unification ''Risorgimento'' movement. Previously, the seat of the Chamber of Deputies of the Kingdom of Italy had been briefly at the ''Palazzo Carignano'' in Turin (1861–1865) and the ''Palazzo Vecchio'' in Florence (1865–1871). The People Of Freedom
The People of Freedom ( it, Il Popolo della Libertà, PdL) was a centre-right political party in Italy. The PdL, launched by Silvio Berlusconi on 18 November 2007, was initially a federation of political parties, notably including Forza Italia and National Alliance, which participated as a joint election list in the 2008 general election. The federation was later transformed into a party during a party congress on 27–29 March 2009. The party's leading members included Angelino Alfano (national secretary), Renato Schifani, Renato Brunetta, Roberto Formigoni, Maurizio Sacconi, Maurizio Gasparri, Mariastella Gelmini, Antonio Martino, Giancarlo Galan, Maurizio Lupi, Gaetano Quagliariello, Daniela Santanchè, Sandro Bondi, and Raffaele Fitto. The PdL formed Italy's government from 2008 to 2011 in coalition with Lega Nord.
