''Under the Radar'' is the third studio album by Canadian singer-songwriter Daniel Powter and follows his 2005 self-titled second album. The album was released in September 2008 in Europe and was later released in North America in 2009. The song " Next Plane Home" was released as the first single of the album. It was followed by " Best of Me" and then " Whole World Around". This album also contains a new remix of " Love You Lately" which has a cleaner sound, extra keyboard/synthesizer effects, and some extra backing vocals as well as a re-recording of the song "Negative Fashion" which originally appeared on Powter's debut album " I'm Your Betty". Daniel Richard Powter (; born February 25, 1971) is a Canadian musician. He is best known for his self-penned hit song " Bad Day" (2005), which was top of the ''Billboard'' Hot 100 for five weeks. Biography Early life Powter grew up in Vernon, in the Okanagan-Shuswap region of British Columbia, alongside 2 brothers and a sister. As a child, Powter played the violin at the age of 4. He changed to piano at 16 years old after a group of children bullied him in the schoolyard, trashed and destroyed his violin. Due to dyslexia, Powter had trouble in university reading music, and dropped out at the age of 20 in order to pursue his own musical career, learning all songs by ear and recording new melodies that he created. He started writing songs when he was 13 years old. Powter moved to Vancouver at the age of 22 and met producer Jeff Dawson in 1997 and released his debut studio album, ''I'm Your Betty'', on June 21, 2000. "Bad Day" is a pop song by Canadian singer-songwriter Daniel Powter from his self-titled second studio album (2005). It was written by Powter and produced by Jeff Dawson and Mitchell Froom. Powter and Dawson recorded the song in 2002, but were initially unable to find a record label to release it. The song was first used in a French Coca-Cola television advertisement in Christmas 2004 before its official release. Tom Whalley, Warner Bros. "Love You Lately" is the fifth single from Daniel Powter's eponymous second studio album, ''Daniel Powter''. It is also the only additional track to appear on the CD of the 2006 deluxe edition/re-release which also included a DVD with all of the music videos accompanying the preceding four singles ('Bad Day', 'Free Loop (One Night Stand)', 'Jimmy Gets High' and 'Lie To Me'), a selection of live versions of songs on the album filmed in concert at 'Studio A' and a selection of B Sides.
