Unathi Elis Mali (born 3 December 1989) is a South African rugby union and sevens player. Biography Mali competed for South Africa at the 2018 Commonwealth Games in Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia. She was named in South Africa's squad for the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham where they finished in seventh place. South Africa Women's National Rugby Sevens Team
The South Africa women's national rugby sevens team competes at events within the World Rugby Women's Sevens Series and was a core team for 2014–15 season. They first played in the 2009 Rugby World Cup Sevens, and also competed in the IRB Women's Sevens Challenge Cup in the 2011–12 season. South Africa did not qualify for the 2016 Rio Olympics despite winning the 2015 Women's Africa Cup Sevens because the South African Olympic Committee (SASCOC) rules states that teams cannot qualify by winning continental titles. As in 2016, South Africa missed Tokyo 2020 for the same reason. 2018 Commonwealth Games
The 2018 Commonwealth Games, officially known as the XXI Commonwealth Games and also known as Gold Coast 2018, was an international multi-sport event for members of the Commonwealth that were held on the Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia, between 4 and 15 April 2018. The 2022 Rugby World Cup Sevens was the eighth edition of the Rugby World Cup Sevens organised by World Rugby.
