''Una Maid en Manhattan'' is a Spanish-language American telenovela produced by Telemundo Studios. It is based on the 2002 film ''Maid in Manhattan'', starring Jennifer Lopez and Ralph Fiennes. A telenovela is a type of a television serial drama or soap opera produced primarily in Latin America. The word combines ''tele'' (for "television") and ''novela'' (meaning "novel"). Similar drama genres around the world include '' teleserye'' (Philippines), '' téléroman'' (Canada, specifically Quebec), and ''sinetron'' (Indonesia).
