Umar Kayam
Umar Kayam (30 April 1932 – 16 March 2002) was an Indonesian sociologist and writer. Biography He began his education at the Hollandsch-Inlandsche School (HIS) in Surakarta, where his father also taught. He continued his education at a MULO (Meer Uitgebreid Lager Onderwijs), then continued studying language at a high school in Yogyakarta until 1951. He graduated from the Faculty of Education at Gadjah Mada University in 1955, received a M.A. from New York University in 1963, and was awarded his Ph.D. from Cornell University in 1965. He was appointed director general of radio, television, and film in the Ministry of Information, a position which he held until 1969, when he began to serve as chairman of the (1969–1972). He served as a director for the Social Studies Training Centre at the Hasanuddin University in Makassar (1975–1976) and as a member of the MPRS ( People's Consultative Assembly). RAN (Indonesian Group)
RAN is an Indonesian pop rock band formed in Jakarta, Indonesia in November 2006. The group comprises Rayi Putra Rahardjo (vocals/rap), Astono "Asta" Andoko (guitars), and Anindyo "Nino" Baskoro (vocals), the group name taken from the members' initials. Their music combines elements of jazz, R&B, rock, hip hop, and funk. They released their debut album, ''RAN for Your Life'' in 2007, from which the successful single "Pandangan Pertama" was taken. They also had a hit with "Dekat di Hati". They have gone on to release four more albums. In November 2015 they collaborated with Kahitna on the single "Salamku Untuk Kekasihmu Yang Baru". ''Femina'' is an Indonesian weekly women's magazine founded in 1972. The magazine is owned by Femina Group. History and content ''Femina'' was established in 1972 and the first issue was published in September 1972. The cover of the first issue was shot in the garage of Svida Alisjahbana, whose father was the magazine's photographer. The magazine is published on a weekly basis. One of its editors was Mirta Kartohadiprodjo, Alisjahbana's aunt, and Irma Hardisurya was fashion editor. Lontar Foundation
The Lontar Foundation, a not-for-profit organization based in Jakarta, Indonesia, was founded in 1987 by four Indonesian writers: Goenawan Mohamad, Sapardi Djoko Damono, Umar Kayam, and Subagio Sastrowardoyo, and the American translator John H. Grounded Theory
Grounded theory is a systematic methodology that has been largely applied to qualitative research conducted by social science, social scientists. The methodology involves the construction of hypotheses and theories through the collecting and analysis of data. Grounded theory involves the application of inductive reasoning. The methodology contrasts with the hypothetico-deductive model used in traditional scientific research. A study based on grounded theory is likely to begin with a question, or even just with the collection of qualitative data. As researchers review the data collected, ideas or concepts become apparent to the researchers. These ideas/concepts are said to "emerge" from the data. The researchers tag those ideas/concepts with ''codes'' that succinctly summarize the ideas/concepts. ''Horison'' (''Horizon'') was a monthly literary magazine in Indonesia. History and profile ''Horison'' was founded in 1966 and originally run by the Indonesian Foundation (Yayasan Indonesia). The People's Consultative Assembly of the Republic of Indonesia ( id, Majelis Permusyawaratan Rakyat Republik Indonesia, MPR-RI) is the legislative branch in Politics of Indonesia, Indonesia's political system. It is composed of the members of the People's Representative Council (DPR) and the Regional Representative Council (DPD).
