Uma Sundari
''Uma Sundari'' is a 1956 Indian Telugu-language film, produced by M. Somasundaram under the Jupiter Pictures Pvt. Ltd. banner and directed by P. Pullayya. It stars N. T. Rama Rao and Sriranjani Jr., with music composed by Ashwathama. Plot Once upon a time, there was a kingdom named Mahendrapura. It's king, Rajashekara (V. Nagayya), loves his sister Uma Sundari (Sriranjani Jr) more than his life. Queen Neelaveni (Kannamba) aspires to marry Uma Sundari with her retarded brother Alankar Bhoopati (Relangi), to which Uma refuses and marries her love interest Vijaya Rayalu, the King of Rayadurgam. Offended, Neelaveni keeps a grudge against her and wants to take revenge. Time passes, and Uma Sundari is blessed with seven children. Vempati Sadasivabrahmam shortly Sadasivabrahmam () (b: 1905 – d: 1968) was a writer of film stories, dialogues and lyrics in the early period of Telugu cinema.Sadasivabrahmam Vempati, Luminaries of 20th Century, Part II, Potti Sriramulu Telugu University, Hyderabad, 2005, pp: 912–13. He was born in Tuni, East Godavari district, Andhra Pradesh. He studied Pancha Kavyas and achieved proficiency in Sanskrit and Telugu languages. Sriranjani Jr
Sriranjani (22 February 1927 – 27 April 1974) was an Indian actress active in Telugu and Tamil films. She was the younger sister of Sriranjani (actress), Sriranjani. She is known mainly for her tragedy roles particularly as the long-suffering wife. Life in Brief Sriranjani was born in Murikipudi village of Guntur district, Andhra Pradesh. Her elder sister, Senior Sriranjani was also an actress and is the first Sita of the Telugu screen. Her birth name is Mahalakshmi. Relangi Venkata Ramayya ( 9 August 1910 – 27 November 1975), known mononymously by his surname as Relangi, was an Indian actor, comedian, and producer known for his works predominantly in Telugu cinema. He was honoured with the Padma Shri for his contribution to Indian cinema in 1970. Relangi is particularly known for his comic expressions, and dialogues during the 1950s and 1960s. C. Nagabushanam (19 April 1921 – 5 May 1995) was an Indian actor known for his works in Telugu cinema and Telugu theatre. He acted in more than 350 films from the 1950s to the 1980s. He primarily acted in villain and character actor roles. Nagabushanam was a trendsetter in enacting comic villain characters. He was also known by the title “Natabhooshana” (). He acted in with more than 5000 shows of the play ''Raktha Kanneeru'' () due to which he also became known as “Raktha Kanneeru Nagabhushanam”. His first film was ''Palletooru'' (1952). Pillavalu Gajapathy Krishnaveni (3 November 1935 – 16 August 2004), more famously known as Jikki, was an Indian playback singer from Andhra Pradesh. She sang around 10,000 songs in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam, Hindi, and Sinhalese languages. Early life Jikki was born in Chennai on 3 November 1935. Madhavapeddi Satyam (11 March 1922 – 18 December 2000) was an Indian playback singer and actor who predominantly worked in Telugu cinema. He entered films as a singer-actor in Y. V. Rao's Tamil-Hindi bilingual movie ''Ramadas'' in the year 1946, playing the role of Kabir. However, he became more popular as a playback singer due to his booming voice.
