Ulrika Sundberg
Ulrika Sundberg is a Swedish diplomat. Her most recent appointment is Sweden's ambassador to Ireland and previously to Belgium (Sweden based) and Pakistan. In 2002 Sundberg wrote a paper entitled, ''"Durban: The Third World Conference Against Racism, Racial Discrimination, Xenophobia and Related Intolerance,"'' in the '' International Review of Penal Law''. It was her report on conference on racism held in Durban, South Africa in 2000, and the problems confrerees had agreeing on a definition of discrimination. In 2005 Sundberg wrote a nineteen-page report, entitled, ''"Human Rights and Terrorism: Some Comments on the Work of United Nations Commission on Human Rights,"'' in the ''International Review of Penal Law''. In 2006 Sundberg took a lead role in Swedish efforts to have the World Bank to incorporate human rights standards into its lending. Mehdi Ghezali
Mehdi Mohammad Ghezali ( ar, مهدي Ù…Øمد غزالي), in media previously known as the Cuban-Swede ( sv, Kubasvensken), is a Swedish citizen of Algerian and Finnish descent who was held in extrajudicial detention in the United States Guantanamo Bay detainment camp in Cuba between January 2002 and July 2004. Ghezali claimed to have been "physically and mentally tortured" at Guantanamo. Prior to his capture, Ghezali attended a Muslim religious school and mosque in the United Kingdom before travelling to Saudi Arabia, Afghanistan, and finally ended up in Pakistan where he was captured. Following his release from detention the Swedish government dropped all charges against him for criminal misconduct prior to his capture. The Ambassador of Sweden to Belgium (known formally as the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Sweden to the Kingdom of Belgium) is the official representative of the government of Sweden to the monarch and government of Belgium. History The Swedish diplomatic mission in Belgium was established in 1837. From 1869 to 1895, the mission was shared with The Hague, Netherlands, located in the latter city and covering both states. Munir Awad ( ar, منير عوض) is a Lebanon-born citizen of Sweden who was convicted of plotting a terrorist attack in Denmark. Munir Awad, and his fiancée were arrested in Kenya in 2007 when Ethiopian forces invaded Somalia and foreigners were detained as suspected terrorists. In 2009 police who arrested them in Pakistan found a suicide belt in their luggage.
