The Ambassador of Sweden to Ireland (known formally as the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Sweden to the Republic of Ireland) is the official representative of the government of Sweden to the president of Ireland and government of Ireland. History In October 1959, an agreement was reached between the Swedish and Irish governments on the mutual elevation of the respective countries' legations to embassies. The coat of arms of the Kingdom of Sweden ( sv, Sveriges riksvapen) has a greater and a lesser version. Regulated usage The usage of the coats of arms is regulated by Swedish Law, Actbr>1970:498 which states (in unofficial translation) that "in commercial activities, the coats of arms, the flag or other official insignia of Sweden may not be used in a trademark or other insignias for products or services without proper authorisation. This includes any mark or text referring to the Swedish State which this can give the commercial mark a sign of official endorsement. This includes municipal coats of arms which are registered." Ulrika Sundberg is a Swedish diplomat. Her most recent appointment is Sweden's ambassador to Ireland and previously to Belgium (Sweden based) and Pakistan. In 2002 Sundberg wrote a paper entitled, ''"Durban: The Third World Conference Against Racism, Racial Discrimination, Xenophobia and Related Intolerance,"'' in the '' International Review of Penal Law''. Blenda ''Margareta'' Hegardt (13 January 1932 – 22 June 2005) was a Swedish diplomat. She was Swedish consul general in Los Angeles from 1983 to 1989, ambassador in Dublin from 1989 to 1993 and consul general in Hamburg from 1993 to 1997. Björn Axel Eyvind Bratt (30 June 1907 – 16 January 1987) was a Swedish diplomat. Early life Bratt was born on 30 June 1907 in Stockholm, Sweden, the son of Arnold "Arne" Bratt, a lector, and Amy (née Berggren). He began his career as an attaché at the Ministry for Foreign Affairs in 1931. Career Bratt was appointed consul in New York City in 1946 and director at the Foreign Ministry in 1947. Bratt was secretary of the Committee on Foreign Affairs in 1949 and earned a Licentiate of Philosophy degree from Uppsala University the same year. He became consul (consul general's name) in Berlin in 1951 and in the same year he earned a Doctor of Philosophy degree from Uppsala University. Nils-Eric Gustaf Ekblad (12 November 1904 – 25 August 1978) was a Swedish diplomat. Early life Ekblad was born on 12 November 1904 in Lund, Sweden, the son of Erik Ekblad, a headmaster, and his wife Gustava (née Jönsson). When he was fifteen years old in 1920 he passed ''studentexamen'' and enrolled at the Lund University. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in 1922, became a reserve officer in 1924 and earned a Candidate of Law in 1928 before being recruited by the Ministry for Foreign Affairs as an attaché the same year.
